Whilst doing research into Freyja, I've seen a few posts mention the names Tregul and Bygul for her two chariot pulling cats. Curious about the source, as these names clearly don't show up in historical texts, I did some Googling. And viola. The names Tregul and Bygul came from an urban fantasy novel called Brisingamen by Diana L. Paxson.
So as much as I love how fitting the names are, they aren't historical facts.
..the lore does not give us the names of the cats who draw her cart- in Brisingamen I assigned them the names "Tregul" (Tree-gold, or Amber) and "Bygul" (Bee-gold, or Honey...
