Lack Of Toilets Tram-Trains 'dehumanising'

Trams proposed for the new £738m south Wales rail network upgrade, planned for 2022, will not have toilets on board. It means passengers between Cardiff, Treherbert, Aberdare and Merthyr Tydfil will have to use station facilities.

Ton Pentre Youth enjoyed a fine pre-season friendly victory at Ynys Park on Monday (15 August) after the Bulldogs beat Treherbert BGC 5-1.

Five minutes after Treherbert had a penalty appeal turned down, the Bulldogs took the lead in this match on 10 minutes through Brandon Coombes.

A minute later it was 2-0 when Nicky Rees ran through on goal after beating two defenders to slot the ball into the net.

James Tomkinson added a third in the 25th minute with a free kick and Coombes bagged his brace and Ton’s fourth with a 30-yard strike.

Treherbert pulled a goal back before half-time with an incredible strike from 35-yards courtesy of Brandon West.

Ton Pentre’s fifth goal was courtesy of a superb right wing run by Coombes who set-up Cameron Thomas to score.
