LIFE ON THE COAST 🌊 Kelsi was bawling her eyes out on the couch one afternoon a few months after our plans to move to Australia had been cancelled. I hugged her and into my shoulder, she yelled “I JUST NEED TO BE BY THE OCEAN”. So, within a few hours, we had sent a message on @airbnb to a couple with a property on Vancouver Island (Matt and Hayleigh), not having any idea how our lives were about to change forever. We went from tears to jumping for joy at the idea of living by the ocean. My Google search that night consisted of: “How long does it take to drive to the island” “What is it like to live on the island” “Hiking on Vancouver island” “Best cafes, restaurants, breweries and hidden gems on the island” Fast forward to this week. We’ve been living on the island for a few months now. Turns out, just like we thought, Matt and Hayleigh are the coolest! We were invited to go on a @trek.west tour with them to some of the most incredible spots along the West Coast of Vancouver Island. If you ever have a chance, we couldn’t recommend a @trek.west tour more. Words can’t describe it, but I am going to share something from our very last stop. Picture this. Driftwood all over a beautiful beach. The sun about to disappear. Fires. Guitar players. Surfers in the water, and hanging out on the sand. Friends. Laughter. THE LIFE! (There’s a photo of it on the last image but as always, it doesn’t do it justice). At this moment, something shifted. Something changed. And? Because of it Kelsi and I are about to pursue something we’ve always talked about doing. Thank you @matt_shannon_photography , @hayleighshereah @trek.west and @kelsiandlucy for the most epic adventure that has sparked the excitement for the next chapter. Stay tuned! 💫 P.S - Head to my stories to see more photos from our @trek.west trip!
