INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 🙋‍♀️ Today is all about highlighting the women who we truly believe need to be highlighted. The movers, the shakere, the change makers. This has been a transformation that’s changed your life and I’m blown away by you consistently. Let’s hear what McKenzie had to say: “Lucy gave me a challenge inside her app this week. Instead of doing my workouts, I was to make the hair appointment I've been putting off for a few months. That's the difference between a good coach and a great coach. I've had plenty of good coaches in the past. A great coach knows it's going to serve me a lot more to focus on this during the week instead of my workouts. I remember looking at the photo on the left and being super bummed I couldn’t see my chin. 6 months later and look at where all this hard work has me. Science proves that you should continue on with your exercises even when you’re bleeding (menstruating) and Dunnebells is aware that we all KNOW this to be true - it IS pretty common knowledge. However, we also know that women on their periods want to be heard, they want to be right, and they want to feel like they’re making their own decisions. So, if that means NOT working out because ‘you just don’t want to’ or because ‘your boobs are so huge that the last thing you would want to do is shove them in that ridiculous sports bra that you’ve had for twelve years’ - then good, don’t work out! 🔥 FEATURE FRIDAY 🔥 This is one of the reasons we encourage our members to take photos. It’s about feeling more confident. Seeing our hard work. Achieving the goals we set. And showing off, because we aren’t here to play small. Oh, and not using the SCALE as a form of measurement ❌ We are so excited to feature Dunnebells member Bev! Here’s what she said: “I didn't think I was going to take a holiday this year but I'm so incredibly proud I did. How I felt was so surprising. I don't have any worry or panic walking around and showing off my bikini. I am not worried about how I’ll look by the pool. I just don't have a bad feeling that I always do on holiday. It is the small moments like this that make you notice yourself and this was a big milestone for me 🥰 Like all the other ladies, I didn’t want to take the progress photos but I’m so glad I did. The picture on the left, from last year, is what made me do something about my weight and really kicked me into gear to change my ways. I joined @dunnebells_ 8-week program because I didn't like the way I looked, I had so much less confidence and as you can see wasn't that happy. I had no idea how this program would change my life. In the next set of photos is a bag I wore on holiday last year and how much bigger it is! I hadn't moved the strap or used it since Sep 2021 and this was a nice little surprise 🥰 I feel so confident in this outfit and had to share this moment. Here's to a great holiday with my lovely family ♥️ and here's to easing back into my Dunnebells workouts when I’m home (I’m excited about them which is so odd for me to feel this way when returning from a holiday)! 💜” Congratulations! “I fell off the wagon” What? No you didn’t. There’s no ducking wagon. And even if there was, you sure as sh*t didn’t fall off. Do you know how many times I lost 20-30lbs and then put it all back on? How about the amount of many times while trying to recover from my eating disorder I had a binge episode. The times after indulging on the weekend would be followed by “eating clean” during the week to make up for the damage, because THAT’S a good idea isn’t it? Oh and what about when I thought I’d accepted that my belly rolls in downward dog didn’t bother me, but in fact, they did and I had to yet again try and work on the relationship I have with my body. So sure, I could sit there and say that when these things happened I fell of the wagon. I could have my pity party and blame the wagon for everything that’s going wrong. I could stay in that headspace for months and do plenty more damage. Or.... I could get up, focus on what I can control and keep fu*king going. Watch out world, this make believe wagon bullsh*t is actually a choo-choo steam train and we aren’t stopping anytime soon.
