TLDR: People make mistakes, and dark jokes aren't great but will get you noticed. Leave @shanedawson alone. He's a human being. He made a mistake and regrets it. End of story.

I opened up twitter at the wrong time bc Shane Dawson is now trending about alleged beastiality.

Jeeze people really need to stop taking very distasteful jokes out of context. I don't know the whole story, but I read Shane's apology thread, and I understand enough, at least, from his perspective. Lots of people start out making dark jokes to get attention. It's not the best way, but it is a way and it gets mixed results. For Shane, it obviously got him the attention he needed to mature and become the youtuber that he is.

I'm not a Shane stan, so I'm speaking as an outsider peering into the twitter hellstorm that appeared. Trust me, lots of people make really messed up jokes/comments to get attention. Then maturity hit, and they grew out of that phase. It's all a part of growing up.

This has happened with James Gunn, and a few other people. We aren't perfect. At some point in our lives, we will make comments that we will regret. It's a part of growing up. We learn from our mistakes (Hopefully).

Anyways, I look forward to seeing this topic mature greatly as people like Keemstar drop their points. It's gonna get ugly, and I'm already expecting a 35% chance that a full on twitter war will ensue in the next few hours, if not tomorrow.

If you're just a younger person using Twitter, get off of your teenage high chair and stop adding fuel to the fire. Shane's already going through a lot after this blew up. He's definitely now going to have to address this in a video at some point this coming week.

I also won't be surprised if Philip DeFranco notices this and makes a video about it this week as well. stop harassing Shane guys. he's apologized, and probably is going to again in a video soon.
