Sasha
After washing, detangling and heavily conditioning Sasha, I left her with a (clean) cut up sock over her head to flatten her bangs and the end of the same sock over the rest of her hair to compress any frizz while it dried, then I pulled more hair into her fringe and flattened it down again to combine the new hair with the rest of her bangs! This is the end result, after a little flat ironing and some Water Wax in her bangs:
I decided not to flatten down the bangs too much, I wanted it to still be a fluffy 70′s hairstyle but not as misshapen and messy as before and I think I reached a happy medium! I did buy her with the knowledge that I’d probably shave and wig her, but I think she can keep this hair for now since it’s so bouncy and shiny, and the color itself is really nice. Nylon is the hero of synthetic doll hair tbh, it really has the best endurance of them all. Democracy died today but at least my dolls have nice hair :)

So my New Year’s resolution was to..make weird choices? I guess lol? I’ve actually always been intrigued by Sasha dolls, not just because the 60′s and 70′s are very much eras that I love, but also because she’s just so different from most dolls. She reminds me of Blythe in that her simplicity is kind of integral to the efficacy of her design and how her rudimentary sculpting and face paint can show a variety of emotions and aesthetics. I spent a couple days looking at different ones, from the Gotz releases and all the way up to the Trendon releases from the UK and decided on a lightly used Schoolgirl Sasha 114 from Trendon that I got for a really good deal!
Her hair is a mess, but luckily it’s thick, shiny nylon and there’s no breakage or damage to her rooting pattern so it’s just a matter of a wash and style! I was mostly concerned about her face paint because I might give her a wig (a long, wispy blonde middle parting would look amazing) but I’m gonna see how her hair restyles before I shave it all off lol I also lowkey wonder what super thick, straight eyebrows would look on her tbh Anyway she’s adorable and weird and I love her lol
