There has been much controversy surrounding the leggings-as-pants trend. While I can't say that I totally support the look, it can be pulled off...just as long as you're wearing the leggings with a top that at least covers your behind.

Patterns: The New Solids
I always become frustrated with my wardrobe during the winter; I like to mix up my usual jeans-and-sweater outfits, but most of the time, wearing a skirt or dress with tights just doesn't cut it when I'm walking to class in the cold. This season, though, brightly-colored and patterned pants are appearing in stores everywhere! They're a refreshing alternative when you're surrounded by a sea of denim.
These jeans from Anthropologie, paired with a neutral sweater and dainty ballet flats, are a fun and bold option. And they'd look super cute peeking out of a long winter peacoat.

As you probably already know, I am obsessed with ABC's Pan Am. I love the 1960s hairstyles and have been considering chopping my hair in favor of a sleek, retro bob haircut a la Colette (pictured below).
I was confused, however, when Colette's hair went from long to short in one episode. After further inspection, I realized her hair had been styled in a faux-bob, and the shorter layers around her face had made it look real. Check out this tutorial on creating a faux bob for yourself! It's super simple and a great alternative if you don't want to make a big commitment to shorter hair.
