Frank Conniff AKA TV’s Frank and the ‘bottom of the barrel’ of cartoon historian Jerry Beck’s archive all return for Cartoon Dump! next month at The Steve Allen Theater.
Screening of actual bad cartoons are interspersed with a live stage parody of those types of cartoons as dreamt up by Conniff and company.
Tickets are $20 and you can (and really should) get them here.
When I saw Bob and David in November, David did a little standup and told some stories. The whole time, Bob was just out of sight, and he had the biggest smile on his face and would laugh like this. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. They didn’t allow pictures, but this exists now, so I can remember how great that was.
I love watching people I admire admiring other people I admire.
Watch “The Roast of Ron Lynch” as a Great Reminder of Traditional Roasts
While the upcoming Roast of Justin Bieber is a night of taking on a highly divisive figure with all the insults and verbal barbs that professional insult and verbal barb makers can muster as physical abuse is illegal, there was a time where roasts were for the ones you love.
The Roast of Ron Lynch wonderfully harkens back to that time.
Ron Lynch is, whether you or Ron knows it or not, an American comedy treasure and, as such, a roast in his honor was held a few weeks back at Trepany House @ The Steve Allen Theater. In attendance was a dais of his friends and contemporaries including Emo Philips, Chuck Sklar, Kevin Kataoka, Brendon Small, Joe Wagner, Katie Crown, The Walsh Brothers, Davey Johnson, and more.
They all took their approach of making fun of Ron and each other, saying something heartfelt, Ron expertly responding, and, as you might imagine made it a night to never forget.
Watch and enjoy a classic roast of a great comedian here.

Relativity Alum Cast as Lead in "A Piece of My Heart"
Congrats to Relativity Workshops alum Connie Ennis who has been cast as leading role Maryjo Kincaid in a local LA production of "A Piece of My Heart." The play revolves around the powerful, true drama of six women who went to Vietnam during the war including five nurses and Maryjo, a country western singer booked to entertain the troops. Over the course of the play, Maryjo is extremely changed by the events that take place. Says Connie:
"I acknowledge Relativity as a starting point for all of my work lately. I'm in pre-production for a few short films that I will be writing, directing and acting in and I'm so thrilled to have the experience needed for these tasks because of Relativity. I also plan on going on a few auditions soon!"
Connie comments that she has also been putting her singing skills to use as part of a weekly performance called "The Country Western Show" hosted at LA's Trepany House. Connie is co-hosting the show with her dad and sister, John and Jessie.
We're so glad to hear about all the great things you are working on Connie!
