David Cross and Bob Odenkirk met while working on The Ben Stiller Show around 1992 (the show would be cancelled in January 1993) and began performing live sketch shows, which became the basis for Mr. Show.

Mr. Show ran for 4 seasons (30 episodes) and was nominated for 4 Emmy Awards.
