I was assigned to shoot the September 7th game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals for Getty Images. I went into the game thinking I should show off as much I can about it being Roberto Clemente Day throughout Major League Baseball. Part of the way through the game things changed, the story was no longer about Clemente Day; it had become about Trevor Williams making his debut. After a Jung Ho Kang homer that put the Pirates ahead in the 8th inning, I started thinking would the team give Williams a Gatorade bath like did they at Citi Field for Jameson Taillon's first MLB win. Once Tony Watson got Matt Carpenter to fly out to end the game, I switched my long glass for my 24-70 and started over towards the Pirates dugout in case something was going to happy. All the players who weren't being interviewed left the field, then I see Trevor Williams motioning to people in the crowd to come down towards the field. I knew then that something special was going to happen. He wound up meeting up with his wife and sleeping son first and then he hugged his crying dad and handed him the game ball from his first big league win. Since last night it's been crazy, I've seen my photos of him all over the place, Getty spotlighted them on their Twitter account and even on their Instagram stories. Anyways, here are some of my photos from Roberto Clemente and Trevor Williams Day at PNC Park
