Anna literally breaks girls hearts FOR FUN, like she enjoys it and she enjoys hurting them
i don’t understand how her making girls (some that read as very vulnerable) feel absolutely heartbroken makes her a fun, haha so sexy character, while what alastair did—a decade ago—makes him irredeemable and a monster
if they are angrier at alastair because he’s a carstairs and they had higher expectations for him, shouldnt they be furious at anna because she a lightwood? like the reasoning makes NO SENSE
for real! the double standard is ridiculous
she is actively mean for no reason. the difference is that she's hurting random girls we know nothing about + kamala, whose only purpose is to be anna's love interest, while alastair hurt our perfect main boys. it's all about the framing; I'm not sure how deliberate it is on cc's part, but she seems determined not to show him any sympathy whatsoever.
matthew is the one who suggested james dump cordelia right before their wedding. matthew is going around paris letting everyone think cordelia is his mistress. matthew talks about eugenia getting 'ruined' by augustus like it's nothing. I don't think it's a big stretch to say he doesn't respect women, in the sense that their reputation doesn't mean all that much to him. so why should he care that anna is ruining other women's? and if matthew doesn't care, why should anyone, really?
