So, I’ve been in the process of character creation for this Magical Girl game I’ll be playing in for the last two weeks and I have a problem: my concept is ridiculously work-intensive. The current iteration of my character sheet is 13 pages long, and I haven’t even finished it.
For reference, my character is essentially Archer Emiya/Gilgamesh from Fate/Stay in Magical Girl form, except that instead of pulling weapons out of hammerspace, she’s pulling powers/weapons from anime she’s watched. Right now they’re all based around different special attacks, and gaining/losing other abilities. So, one turn she might be using Excalibur from Fate/Stay, the next she’s performing a Giga Drill Breaker from TTGL, etc.
She should be super fun to play, and eventually, I’ll have to create an ultimate form that has her channeling multiple shows at once, but right now the way she does things is by channeling powers/abilities from a single show. Well, I may have lumped multiple Gundam shows together for her Gundam form (Shining Finger + Buster Rifle, yes please!), but that’s the exception right now.
Also, slightly complicating things right now is that I may have misunderstood the Power Flux rules, as I thought I needed at least the first level of an attribute in order to Flux it, but it looks like not. So, I may have to tweak a bunch of numbers to get some other abilities that I can Flux, specifically Regeneration and Reincarnation since self-healing is a fairly common ability in many shows (and allows me to channel Baccano!).
I’m really wondering if I should just use Dynamic Power after all, but I’m pretty sure my combat effectiveness drops significantly for gaining flexibility. Ugh.
