my dad keeps trying to use those shit Ai things to make images of him and his wife and send them to the family chat, I ask my sister to help me tell him to stop AGAIN (he did commission me for a picture last time I asked), and she said that she doesn't like the Ai shit, but she's not "confrontational" and tries to "avoid all that" while leaving heart eye emojis, leaving the whole being a shitty "party pooper" to me.

Cool. If she won't stand up for me about Ai, how can I expect her to do anything when a real problem arises. (she has also said she isn't saying much on social media b/c she's scared the US will track her or something--she lives overseas--and told me to stay low too, and I had to point out that my existence being trans and queer marked me and my work anyway, so what, I go live under a rock?)

Now I have to build up a response that explains that Ai is not a fun tool, etc etc and I have REAL WORK to do. God, what a fucking waste of my time. cutting into me supporting my family b/c my sister is too worried about ruffling feathers.

honestly one of the most disgusting things ppl can do is weaponize the various atrocities occurring around the world to "gotcha" people online and win The Morality Game.

Especially if the ppl you're going after are part of those targeted.

So I stumbled across THIS atrocity at the bookstore yesterday when I was looking for actually USEFUL books.

So a couple things. A: the image on the cover, As we might expect, the hand is fucked up, What is going on with the jacket sleeve, who knows, just at a glance.

B: Wasn't the whole point of this garbage to make it so ANYONE could do it? Why are they selling you a book that teaches you how to write prompts? Doesn't that defeat the entire purpose, having to spend money and time to learn how to do it?

C: Again, back to that picture "no really, buy this book, and learn how to draw a hand with 3 and...a half? fingers! Clothing that makes no sense!

And then, of course, you realize what the trick is, it's like all the other snake oil situations "don't go to the doctor, buy my all natural organic $50 shit drink that'll cure you!" "it's a problem that you can't own digital art, here are these NFTs that'll solve this problem I JUST MADE UP and now you can pay to solve that solution!" Just now it's "art is elitist and out of reach, but now there's 'AI" so how you win is to buy this book I made to teach you how to get better at using MY program that I made to solve a problem that DIDN'T EXIST"

The assumption that all atheists are people who’ve “never touched a religious text in their life” basically says to me you have a specific view of atheists and have probably not known many.

Most of them grew up IN the system and DO know the text and THAT’S why they walk away. 

If you’re gonna make a whole post on ppl not using nuance with CR stuff right now the least you can do is use nuance yourself and not paint an entire group of people with a brush that TV taught you, or a bunch of white men into power *cough* Dawkins *cough* coopted a movement in a society where to not believe in god is synonymous with being immoral.

So just keep in mind, the representation of people without faith that you see on TV or twitter isn’t the majority and 9 times out of 10 isn’t correct at all.
