Learn To Feel – Gild The Lily has reached six moons and is ready for her Choosing Ceremony! Excitement is in the air, but will the hard feelings left to fester between her and her father Shed Crocodile Tears make enjoying the day more of a challenge than she expected? (Word Count: 5k)

Summary:

• Gild the Lily was chosen by Key To The Soul. She is no longer morbid, she is now insecure. Snug As A Bug volunteers himself to mentor her, and the rest of the council agrees.

• Like Bees To Honey has taken care of Gild the Lily ever since her mom was taken, and her father Shed Crocodile Tears chose to grieve rather than take care of her.

• Fuel To The Fire shows Gild The Lily around the Key den, and tells her that Key To The Soul's Chosen are more sensitive to the world around them than others.

• Not Half Bad squashes a bug that Flower Of The Flock was watching, upset after seeing a cat younger than faer become a Chosen when fae wasn't.

Wistful Understanding – Like Bees To Honey is on border patrol duty with a pawful of other warriors! They stumble upon an unexpected sight on their border with Bug's clowder that has some unfortunate consequences. And hey, what is Apple Of My Eye sneaking off for so late at night? (Word Count: 2k)

Summary:

• Like Bees To Honey wanted to take Not Half Bad along on patrol with thon, but learns Shed Crocodile Tears took ver out for training instead, which bothers thon.

• Like Bees To Honey sees two kits from Bug’s clowder playing close to the border. As Like Bees To Honey goes to step over the border with Two Birds One Stone to retrieve the kits and bring them back to their camp, they stop as they hear cats from Bug’s clowder shouting for the kits. The patrol doesn't realize that the Bug clowder cats saw them cross the border and now look upon their departing backs with fury. Relations with Bug’s clowder have worsened. (Also present: Fuel To The Fire and Apple Of My Eye)

• Apple Of My Eye was seen touching noses with someone from Bug’s clowder, how scandalous! They were caught by Like Bees To Honey, who decides to keep their secret and reassures them that love is not wrong, but they need to be more careful and remember where their loyalties lie. Apple Of My Eye thinks Like Bees To Honey is being thoughtful of others.

• Like Bees To Honey was seen racing along the border with thons rival from Pour’s clowder.

Other Notes

• Shed Crocodile Tears might be reading a little too far into Like Bees To Honey's kindness.

• Gild the Lily’s first patrol: Boughs of Holly escorts Snug As A Bug out with Gild the Lily. They stumble upon an old badger sett that is filled with a new scent. Snug As A Bug has them stuff bushes into the mouth of the sett to be checked for movement the next day.

• Gild the Lily tries to do too much at once and defeatedly asks Like Bees To Honey for help. Like Bees To Honey follows through on a small promise made with Gild the Lily. (Excerpt from Learn To Feel: “I’ll always be here if you need any help, sweetbean. Even when you’re all grown up!”)

• Flower Of The Flock and Apple Of My Eye both wonder what the other is up to.

• Boughs of Holly is chattering at the birds in the trees above.

Main Events

Snug As A Bug rests his muzzle on Not Half Bad's head and declares faer to be a full warrior of TriadClan, honoring faer good nature. (Startles others > Underpawed, Active imagination > Good kitsitter)

Other Notes

• While Snug As A Bug had planned to attempt to befriend the clowder leader Krill, terrible weather convinces Snug As A Bug to skip this Gathering. Any befriending of Krill’s clowder can wait until the sky isn't caving in on TriadClan. Snug As A Bug can tell Two Birds One Stone worries about his health and safety. (High pos effect)

• Fuel To The Fire and Shed Crocodile Tears are feeling better!

• Shed Crocodile Tears influenced Not Half Bad to be more likely to have strong inner morals and stay collected. He helped faer become better at stealth!

• Patrol with Snug As A Bug, Gild The Lily, Apple Of My Eye, and Not Half Bad: Apple Of My Eye looks around when there is a loud crash, and they are buried beneath a mass of branches. Snug As A Bug tugs on just the right branch, lifting the pile off of Apple Of My Eye for long enough for the other cat to scramble free.

• Patrol with Shed Crocodile Tears, Fuel To The Fire, and Boughs Of Holly: The patrol spots a badger making a den on Krill's territory. As luck would have it, Shed Crocodile Tears smells one of Krill's patrols approaching. He calls out to the patrol and tells them about the badger and where he saw it making a den. The patrol is grateful and return to their camp immediately to report the badger to their leader.

• Flower Of The Flock is escorted by Like Bees To Honey and Two Birds One Stone to search for garlic: This garlic will certainly restock the herb stores... which are close to Flower Of The Flock's nest. Yay... The warriors seem relieved that they'll never have to sleep next to the herbs.

• Flower Of The Flock was startled awake in the wee hours by a vivid dream of a baby crocodile emerging from a cocoon.

• Gild The Lily daydreams about having a mate and kits some day.

• Both Two Birds One Stone and Like Bees To Honey startle at a clap of thunder.

Extra Info

• Krill is the leader of a more withdrawn group of cats that live around one of the lakes nearby. While he may look cute and act friendly, don't let that fool you. He is easily the most intelligent of the leaders, and his morals are ambiguous at best. It's in everyone's best interests to avoid catching *his* interest.

• Fun fact: While Meadow Saffron is a pretty flower, it is also toxic to cats! Much like Krill <3

Main Events

Death's Chime – Shed Crocodile Tears becomes truly acquainted with Ascension. (Word Count: 4k) Also available to read on Toyhouse!

Summary:

• One day, Snug As A Bug is found dead in the leader's den, never to rise again. The leader has lost all his remaining lives, and joins the plane of Ascension.

• Shed Crocodile Tears has become the new leader of Triadclan. He vows to protect the Clan, even at the cost of his nine lives.

• Like Bees To Honey is made deputy. Boughs Of Holly is welcomed onto the Council, as they are in need of one of Key To The Soul’s Chosen, and ne is the eldest warrior they have. Ne also replaces Snug As A Bug as Gild The Lily’s mentor.

• Shed Crocodile Tears and Gild The Lily have a nasty fight when he gets home and finds her waiting with Not Half Bad. He scolds her for hanging around the unchosen warrior, but she refuses to let him tell her who she can be friends with. She is angered to hear The Triad gave him his lives after all.

Fuel To The Fire returned to camp with a single kitten tottering behind her, and explains that she found beam wandering around the forest, no parent in sight. However, Apple Of My Eye can’t help but notice the kitten has Fuel To The Fire’s eyes, and Gild The Lily comments on the weird scent clinging to her and the kit. (Free As A Bird has joined the clan!)

Other Notes

• Like Bees To Honey was seen arguing, and borderline-fighting, with a loner– xe has been asking outsiders if they’ve seen xyr mate, and Heavy said he thought he saw her once but is now unsure. Xe is angry with him for giving xem false hope. (The Clan has encountered Heavy.)

• Two Birds One Stone helps Free As A Bird build a nest, offering some feathers from nir own.

• Two Birds One Stone thinks that Not Half Bad is very creative. (“I hope Key To The Soul chooses you, you have an eye for decoration.”)

• Like Bees To Honey carefully curates xyr appearance to be dazzling, but not too dazzling!

• Two Birds One Stone is busying nemself with too much work after Snug As A Bug's death

• Gild The Lily is avoiding everyone today.

• Like Bees To Honey is delighted to be working with Gild The Lily today.

• Apple Of My Eye tells a Clanmate that Like Bees To Honey did a great job today. ("I can't think of a better choice for deputy!")

• Two Birds One Stone is visibly upset to be on a patrol with Boughs Of Holly.

Main Events

Mementos (Mini-sequel to Reminders) - Fuel To The Fire makes good on her promise to Free As A Bird. (Pictured below since it's tiny enough I felt it didn't need its own Doc/Toyhouse!)

As the clowder co-leader Larch gives a speech during the Gathering, Shed Crocodile Tears snorts at one of her jokes. Only… it wasn’t a joke, apparently. Whoops. (Relations with Larch and Coati’s clowder have worsened.)

Fuel To The Fire’s sprained paw has healed nicely!

Gild The Lily stands before the clan. They should be happier, but as they're made a warrior and honored for their forethought, they cast a look to the crowd. They wish that Snug As A Bug could be there to see them now. (Prophecy seeker, Looks at the sky -> Cloud watcher)

Free As A Bird has reached the age of six moons and is now Gone In A Blink’s Chosen, with Shed Crocodile Tears as beams mentor. (Daydreamer > Gracious)

Free As A Bird’s First Patrol: The new apprentice goes out with beams mentor for a hunting patrol along with Gild The Lily as their guard. The entire clan comments on their success as they bring home a huge amount of prey.

• Apple Of My Eye can hear the truth in Boughs Of Holly's words when ne talks about protecting others.

• Two Birds One Stone is surprised that Not Half Bad's life isn't as easy as ne thought it was.

• Both Boughs Of Holly and Free As A Bird enthusiastically congratulate Gild The Lily after her warrior ceremony.

• Like Bees To Honey and Apple Of My Eye always have something to share with each other

• Put Down Roots overhears Apple Of My Eye saying something nice about him.

• Shed Crocodile Tears asked another cat to pass a message to Not Half Bad rather doing it himself.

• Fuel To The Fire learns a helpful skill from Shed Crocodile Tears.

• Boughs Of Holly didn't know that Put Down Roots was so talented.

• Not Half Bad is finding Boughs Of Holly annoying.

• Shed Crocodile Tears worries about the lack of prey leafbare will bring.

Time for the last of the clowder leaders!

• Larch and Coati's clowder are the chillest of the clowders by far. Larch adopted Coati and his siblings when she found them as babies during a storm. Since then, they have invited any cat or raccoon that passes by to come live in the barn with them. Coati is still naive given his youth, but his kindness is what made Larch appoint him as co-leader alongside her. She is the one with the keen eye for trouble, which keeps the clowder safe.

• They live in an abandoned barn closer to the twoleg town and have a lot of herbs growing on their territory that they are happy to trade. One of those herbs is catnip, which they are known to use recreationally. They are the only territory that has it, so if a cat from the other clowders wants catnip, they have to go through them.

Main Events

(Takes place right before Reminders) A patrol consisting of Shed Crocodile Tears, Gild The Lily, Boughs Of Holly, and Apple Of My Eye hear screeching coming from a nearby lake. They race towards it and find a twoleg holding a thrashing bag over the water. Realizing what’s going on, Gild The Lily and Apple Of My Eye attack, making the twoleg to drop the bag. While the twoleg is distracted, Shed Crocodile Tears and Boughs Of Holly quickly get the shaken old feline out of sight, Boughs Of Holly promising him a place of rest in Triadclan shortly before he loses consciousness. The kittypet takes the clan name Put Down Roots when he's lucid. He becomes What Doesn’t Kill You’s Chosen shortly after. (Put Down Roots joined the clan, and is suffering from head damage!)

Reminders – Fuel To The Fire deals with the recently constant reminders of things she'd rather leave in the past. It's hard to do that when one of those reminders is her own daughter. (Word Count: 3.9k) Also available to read on Toyhouse!

Summary:

• Fuel To The Fire has been struggling with Free As A Bird’s resemblance to beams kittypet father, Gravy, who she had a messy break-up and has been mutually no-contact with.

• She confesses to Shed Crocodile Tears about her struggles with her ex. In the oneshot, this takes the form of a flashback to the relationship-ending argument between her and Gravy.

• Shed Crocodile Tears shares a secret of his own in exchange, that he knows what it’s like to have a kittypet father, and that it’s right to tell Free the truth so she can learn and grow. He also tells her that she’s the only one in this clan he feels he can trust. This gives Fuel To The Fire the courage to talk to Free As A Bird about beams father.

• Free As A Bird takes the information decently, though bea is upset by it, and brings up the idea of going to see beams father when bea is an apprentice, hoping that he’ll have changed his mind about seeing them both. Fuel To The Fire, though she isn’t nearly as positive about the idea, begrudgingly agrees for Free’s benefit.

Gild The Lily has reached warrior age! She hasn’t become a warrior yet as the change in teaching styles from Snug As A Bug to Boughs Of Holly was an adjustment that took some time to get used to.

• Shed Crocodile Tears helps Fuel To The Fire work through something difficult that happened to her. (Used for Reminders)

• Fuel To The Fire got a weird look on her face when Free As A Bird approached her. (Used for Reminders)

• Like Bees To Honey feels safe with Boughs Of Holly around.

• Two Birds One Stone and Gild The Lily go out of their way to help Flower Of The Flock and Boughs Of Holly with something without being asked.

• Fuel To The Fire does something brave with Boughs Of Holly's support.

• Gild The Lily goes for a nice, long walk with Not Half Bad.

• Shed Crocodile Tears ignored Two Birds One Stone's advice on a patrol and nearly got hurt because of it.

• Not Half Bad is discomforted by Shed Crocodile Tears's muttering.

Main Events

Gild The Lily has realized that she-cat doesn't describe how purr feels anymore, but neither does tom. They are now nonbinary, and use they/them and purr/purrs pronouns!

Fuel To The Fire leaped from a rock, but she didn't land quite right. (Fuel To The Fire has acquired a sprained paw.)

Not Half Bad’s trait "Underpawed" has upgraded to “Furtive kitty”!

Boughs Of Holly had a heated argument with Two Birds One Stone and said some very hurtful things. The one-page, play-style script for this scene can be read in Docs or on Toyhouse!

Other Notes

• Free As A Bird gently woke up Fuel To The Fire this morning. Beam's decided to sleep in the healer's den with beams mother until she heals.

• Shed Crocodile Tears is giving (unwanted) advice to Gild The Lily.

• Gild The Lily and Not Half Bad realize they have a similar sense of humor.

• Boughs Of Holly wants to be closer with Gild The Lily. (Trying to bond even if ne will only be purrs mentor for a little while)

• Shed Crocodile Tears defends Free As A Bird in conversations with the rest of the council. (Seems someone is willing to turn a blind eye to code-breaking if it's the kit of a cat he cares for!)

• Fuel To The Fire leaps into a pile of fallen leaves, and Free As A Bird crushes a few beneath beams paws, appreciating the nice sound they make.

• Something good happens to Two Birds One Stone and most clanmates congratulate nem, but Shed Crocodile Tears doesn't say anything at all.

• Flower Of The Flock feels her kindness may be taken advantage of.

The Greenleaf Festival – With the beginning of greenleaf comes The Greenleaf Festival, one of three events put on in honor of The Triad, where each of them come down from Ascension to attend! This season's deity is What Doesn't Kill You, and Fuel To The Fire and her clanmates are ready and waiting for the day's sparring tournament! (Word Count: 8k) (Not beta-read)

Summary:

• First match: Fuel To The Fire vs Two Birds One Stone = FTTF Wins

• Second match: Boughs Of Holly vs Apple Of My Eye = AOME Wins

• Third match: Fuel To The Fire vs Like Bees To Honey = FTTF Wins

• Final match = Apple Of My Eye vs Fuel To The Fire = AOME Wins!!

• Snug As A Bug is sharing tongues with Fuel To The Fire.

• Flower Of The Flock helps a warrior regain their strength. (Gives Fuel To The Fire herbs for her soreness before the tourney)

• Shed Crocodile Tears has gotten heat stroke.

• Two Birds One Stone compliments Fuel To The Fire on her fighting techniques when she bests nem in the tournament.

• Apple Of My Eye promises to teach Gild The Lily a new technique later.

Other Notes

• When Bug’s clowder arrives at the Gathering, Snug As A Bug shifts over to make plenty of room for Bug on the leader's perch. Bug jumps up and dips growls head to Snug As A Bug.

• Training session with Gild The Lily, Snug As A Bug, Not Half Bad, Like Bees To Honey, and Boughs Of Holly: Wanting to show off to Not Half Bad during a training session, Gild The Lily attempts a difficult battle move while they're training together. While it's not flawless, Gild The Lily successfully performs the battle move. Plus, she's pretty sure she sees Not Half Bad smiling out of the corner of her eye. (Tiny crush on Not Half Bad!)

• Hunting patrol with Boughs Of Holly, Two Birds One Stone, and Apple Of My Eye: As the patrol heads out into the forest to hunt, Boughs Of Holly seems to be absolutely unconcerned with nir duties, instead ambling along as through the prey is going to waltz into nir paws. Boughs Of Holly doesn't bring much home, impressing nobody.

• Flower Of The Flock doesn't think there's ever a dull moment with Gild The Lily.

• Two Birds One Stone tries to look at Snug As A Bug's actions from another perspective, and starts to like him more.

• Like Bees To Honey gets excellent advice from Boughs Of Holly about something thon had been worrying about.

• Shed Crocodile Tears promises to always look out for Fuel To The Fire.
