Sikhara

I've wanted to post about Sikhara for years but none of their stuff was ever online and I didn't feel like digging through storage so I could find my copies of the CDs and upload them myself... Buuut, this just popped up on youtube and now I don't have to.

So yeah, Sikhara... Heavy duty tribal industrial/ ambient that should blow your fucking mind if you dig stuff like Crash Worship, Test Dept, Tchkung, Voice of Eye, Vasilisk, Militia, etc. etc.

This is one of the main albums that inspired me to start playing drums a bunch of years ago because I knew I really wanted to do something with a similar style of rolling/ crushing tribal percussion and I also knew that I had a better chance of finding an actual unicorn than I had of finding a drummer who was into both Sikhara and Autopsy.

I've been pretty obsessed with this album lately. Heavy duty tribal drumming and gothy/ witchy ritual music welded to frosty atmospheric black metal... I feel like comparisons to Enslaved, L'Acephale, and early Immortal would be fair, but this is definitely its own weird thing.

Definitely worth a spin if you're in the market for a pitch black hypnagogic zone out.
