Intellectual honesty, though, requires change. If your views haven't changed in ten years, that says less about your clarity than it says about your lack of reflection.

I don’t think most of you dislike powerscalers or shippers, I think you dislike superficial, annoying, opinionated readers and you may tolerate one more than the other based on your own tastes, all jokes aside.

Very, very rarely do I ever see someone who is seriously invested into one of those topics about a particular story of their interest refuse to engage with a well written, sensible analysis pertaining to the other topic. It’s not the same to see a well founded wall of text about how character A no joke stands a chance against character B despite what might seem an obvious curbstomp than it is to see a wholly utilitarian, fantasy football-esque numbers-is-bigger binary end all answer, just like it’s not the same to see a well founded exploration into how the themes, experiences and dynamics between two characters could feasibly see them bond romantically than it is to see a flimsy and baseless claim that finds its entire bedrock in the characters showing up together in a panel.
