They are trying to hold on to their culture while trying to find ways to be self sufficient. They can be known as the Jaguar people, although they themselves do not connect with this idea. The adornments they wear on their face are for identification only, not in connection to the Jaguar. They like many other tribes hope to hold on to their culture, retain a sense of pride, and find a way to coexist in the ever changing world around them. Brazil is constantly in torment of big oil companies, and other misappropriation of their lands.
