The 100 Year Old Jazz Age Goth

The Tribune Tower in Chicago opened in 1925, built in the Neo-Gothic style the building stands at 463ft tall. In 1922 a world wide competition was held to design the worlds most beautiful and distinctive office building, the competition is now seen as a turning point in architectural design.

Natural Green

The Tribune Building is another icon along this stretch of the Chicago River that I always have to catch a shot of. I was surprised that river reflection was so green. It looked like St. Patrick’s Day rather than a September afternoon. (Chicago, Illinois, 2025)

Tribune Building

Headquarters to the late newspaper empire bearing its name, the New York Tribune Building was built in 1875 by architect Richard Morris Hunt. The brick-and-stone building, famous for its protruding clock tower, was razed in 1966.
