"A Tribute to the Music of D’Angelo is a one-night-only concert experience honoring the extraordinary legacy, genius, and musical influence of D’Angelo. Led by renowned musician and musical director Selan Lerner (Nile Rodgers, Adele, Louie Vega, Alejandro Sanz, DJ Spinna), the evening features a world-class house band and several guest artists celebrating one of the most revered figures in music history.
D’Angelo is widely regarded as neo soul’s central architect. As a core member of the #Soulquarians collective alongside artists such as The Roots, Erykah Badu, Common, and Bilal, he propelled a cultural and musical shift defined by authenticity, groove, and uncompromising musicianship.
A groundbreaking vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and visionary, D’Angelo redefined modern soul with unmatched depth and purity. Tragically, he passed away far too soon from pancreatic cancer. In his honor, a portion of event proceeds will be donated to The Lustgarten Foundation, supporting pancreatic cancer research.
Guest artists include Chris Rob, Rahj Mason, Daron Lameek, Shanelle Gabriel, Sheldon Ray, Darien Dean and Justus, with DJ sets by Hasan Insane and DJ Kamala.
