"Babe, honey," Gabriel says to get Sam's attention, but the fucker keeps his eyes glued to whatever boring book he's currently reading. "Darling, sweetie-pie," Gabriel adds, sitting next to the hunter to get all into his personal space. Joke's on Sam, though, if he thinks that Gabriel will run out of pet names and then leave him alone because Gabriel knows all 7,139 languages of the world, and that's only the official ones. "Mon chou, ma puce. Palatino. Mi corazón. Bichito." He likes that one because it sounds a little like bitch. "Schnuckiputzi. Zuckerpüppchen." When Sam's eyes finally flicker to him, Gabriel gives him the most brilliant smile. "I'm bored. Do you wanna have sex?"
Sam should have started a timer the moment he sat down on the couch with a book he had been eagerly waiting to read, because it couldn't have been more than ten minutes before Gabriel strutted into the room, trying to capture his attention.
He often thinks of Gabriel as a wild animal: they will leave him alone if he plays dead. In his case, this means ignoring Gabriel, hoping he will get bored and go on his merry way, allowing Sam a moment of peace—until the archangel tries again, that is.
So that's exactly what Sam does—not because he doesn't want Gabriel around, but because he was looking forward to this alone time, a concept he's not entirely sure his partner understands. At first, it works, and Sam manages to read a couple of pages, but as the playful nicknames pile up and become more curious each time, he realizes he isn't really reading; he's just staring at the page. That's when he acknowledges defeat, closing the book without a bookmark and turning his gaze toward Gabriel.
"You really don't know when to stop, do you?"
Instead of explaining himself (besides stating the obvious, which Sam has already figured out), Gabriel makes him an offer he can't refuse. Sam curses himself for wanting to agree almost immediately; it reminds him that Gabriel truly has him wrapped around his finger, despite the fact that he often insists otherwise.
"… Wait, you mean, like, right now?"
