you've gotten asks like this before but i thought i'd drop mine in: thanks so much for the hs2/wp posts you write. they're all very well worded and they help give voice to people who don't know what to say or are too afraid to speak out. i remember when i first joined hs twitter over a year ago and i was Always uncomfortable with kate but i felt totally alone in thinking that... it's nice to know that i wasn't crazy haha ^^;; i hope you find a good day and may you find all that you seek

Of course!! I love being able to share content like this with people - be it from my own brain or from that of others. It’s so, so important to realise that we’re not actually alone in how we feel. A lot of what Kate - and the other HS^2 writers - rely on is this idea of isolation. That we’re the ONLY ones who feel this way, that NOBODY could possibly agree with us.

The fact of the matter is, we’re a larger voice in the fandom than we think we are. And it’s definitely the job of blogs like mine to try and eloquently write down the things people are thinking and feeling but either don’t have the time/energy or don’t have the confidence to write themselves. 

It’s fucking terrifying putting yourself out there, speaking out against the writers and the fandom, when it feels like it’s just you who sees something wrong. It was for me, too! But being heard is important - if not to change things, then at least to reassure people that they’re not crazy for being uncomfortable, not wrong for thinking that something isn’t right. 

I honestly try to stay away from Twitter because of the things I’ve seen from the fandom on it - and generally just because I don’t like the layout; there’s no way in HELL I’d be able to keep to the word limit - but I think that’s generally where it’s worst. It’s also where the writers are most vocal. I’m so sorry you had that discomfort in a fandom space, and for so long, but I’m glad at least that I could help with reassurance. 

I hope that the future is better for you, too - and that your day is just as bright! There’s still a lot of good left in this fandom, I think; it’s just a point of finding it.
