@trickstersintime: "I… swear to drunk… I'm not god."
Skurge rested a hand on Loki’s wrist, the large tankard of ale kept from his lips.
“As mirthsome as you are when you are full of ale... the limitations of your mischief know even fewer bounds. Perhaps it might be best if you drank...” He cringed inwardly at the next words that would come out of his mouth, a shudder running down his spine.
“... some water.”
completely canon, extremely serious content

“You’re a real ass, Loki.”
It would have been so easy. After those damned illusions had run down there was only one target left for his arrows to go, and at this distance, in this little alcove away from the fray, Hawkeye could hardly miss. These weird …entangled matches or whatever they called them were ruthless in their efficiency, and Asgardian or not, the one boon here was that Clint could punch well above his weight.
So…when presented with the option of a quick kill and easy victory, why wasn’t he just taking it? It was a stupid question to ask himself, made all the worse by Loki’s commentary, and for a moment he drew the bow back further. A beat passed. He began, hastily, to justify to himself that maybe if he kept the guy busy he’d be doing a greater favour in the long run. Loki couldn’t get up to more mischief if he was distracted.
There was nothing else to it. Not like they’d gotten to talking between these bouts or anything. With practiced care Clint slacked off the bow, though he remained standing in Loki’s way, weapon loosely at the ready. After all, no matter how much he might…whatever the word was for how he felt about Loki, there was only so far he could be trusted.
“Just stay put and let the others settle the match, okay? They’re not gonna notice if we’re gone with the time left.” His expression soured. “Gloat again and I’ll shoot you in the ass in front of everyone.”

The crackling of the camp fire punctuated the lingering silence Gale, miraculously, let hang as he digested the statement. It was surprisingly vulnerable, and though often he had joked about a softness lurking beneath each companion within the camp, this unprompted comment had taken him somewhat off guard. Perhaps it was the late night hour, a prime time for melancholic thoughts; perhaps it was simply the privacy of them being the only two awake at this hour.
Habitual teasing and a desire to smooth over emotions came first, with a dry chuckle. "Oh, I wouldn't worry: you might find out how awful I can be long before then. What’s brought this about, eh, Astarion? An especially poignant passage in a novel? Something Shadowheart said whilst you were gossiping?"
No sooner had he spoken the words he seemed to regret them, eyes turning briefly skyward in self chastisement before he spoke again. "Truly, what has brought this on? What do you fear if I don't come to grasp this...this awfulness?"

Mantis didn't expect to see a strangely-dressed man wandering around Missouri. He walked with a slight sway, ultimately tripping, falling and hitting his head. Rushing to his side, the empath would gently pat the man's face – thankfully he wasn't completely unresponsive.
"What? Angel...?" Mantis shook her head. "No, I... Are you okay, sir? You seem... disoriented..."

Pirate is an amazing writer – I can practically hear the voices of her muses in my head when she replies to our threads. It's so immersive, it can make you forget where you are because Pirate takes you by the hand and brings you into another world. That takes talent. It's no secret that as a writer, I look up to all my mutuals and Pirate is the perfect example as to why I do so. Your Loki is wonderful, I love the fact that you do not water him down, you do not try to make him more 'palatable', you let him be the god of lies, he can be good and he can be bad and you understand him as a deeply complex, nuanced being. Your replies are always beautifully written and never disappoint.
I love our threads and I have so much fun with them. Thank you for sharing your writing with the world! 💚
