“A FLING!?” The duck’s voice nearly cracks in his unbridled rage. “THAT WAS THE BEST TWO YEARS OF MY LIFE!” Wait-- He’s not supposed to admit that to his ex. He just got too heated being disregarded so heartily.
@tricores replied to your post “Every time i see tricores I think of the Eggman...”:

"FINALLY, MY OWN CL-"
❛ starline? ❜ oh fuck. it’s his ex.
@tricores // hi
@tricores SAID: “well, i guess that’s broken.”

❝ ...hm, guess so, ❞ the kit responds quietly, glancing up at the aftermath of what should have been a fantastic invention. Well, it would be. Thinking about it, it just seemed like it was missing something... Tails stares for a moment, then blinks. On instinct, he's suddenly reaching for a screwdriver ( HIS BRAIN HAS GONE INTO AUTO-PILOT; HE SEES WHAT'S WRONG ). ❝ What if you tried this -- ❞
"i'm aware of your complex..." he trails off for a moment, staring at infinite across the table as they devour the plate of spaghetti. "relationship with dr eggman," starline continues carefully as he dabs at his bill with the cloth napkin, understanding that this is delicate and dangerous ground to be treading. not that he's certain the other is even listening... "i think our unique situations have some not - insignificant similarities, and we could be valuable allies to one another."
When Infinite was offered a free meal at an expensive restaurant, even if it was from a stranger, his stomach spoke over his brain. He does, of course, care about business being discussed, but he’s rather rabidly devouring his plate of food. It’s easily some of the finest cuisine he’s ever had, even if he far prefers home-cooked food.
When Eggman is mentioned, though, Infinite pauses his ravenous crusade. He doesn’t even wipe his face.
“...I don’t tend to trust those who work with him nowadays, you know. No matter how ‘complicated’ one’s relationship may be, I need faith that I won’t be sold out.”
🖌 genuinely i at least just need infinite going to town in spaghetti. i don't even care about starline.
local jackal has not once been in a fancy restaurant

Jaw clenched, Shadow stares down Starline with a look that might actually kill him - or petrify him - or turn him to stone -- Shadow doesn’t particularly care which as long as it renders the platypus inconsequential. And there’s the element of PRIDE here too; they both have copious amounts of the stuff, although in very different forms. Where Starline is manicured expressions and a lofty voice, Shadow is prickly and closed off -- yes, they both love their specific brands of hubris.
But Shadow has a promise to keep. That’s where he and Starline DIFFER. So against all odds, Shadow manages to swallow some of his pride, tongue running along the outside of his gums, clearly displeased. “You make one wrong move, and I put a Chaos Spear into your spine.” With that out of the way. “What do you need me to do?”
