Random One-Shot....maybe?
Okay so I come up with stuff...randomly things come to my head and I must write them. This is one of them...
"Please, don't do this!" Yugi begged, tears falling from his face.
"He's innocent!" Tea hollered.
Joey was being held back by two guards. "Come on, you got the wrong man!" He tried to fight them off.
"He's right! Let us help you figure out who really did it!" Tristan stood beside Joey, trying to keep him from getting harmed.
They were yelling at a man, dressed in a long white robe, with a golden scarf around his shoulders, he had grey hair but it was hard to see under his headdress. He glared at them. "You claim that the Pharaoh is innocent?"
"Yes!" Yugi's voice cracked.
"What makes you so sure?" The man asked.
Yugi's breathing was heavy, tears refused to stop falling, he was struggling to take in the scene before him. "I know him! He's not a murderer!" He looked down at the scene below. A stage was placed in the center of the coliseum, on that stage stood a hefty man in a tan robe, a dark mask over his face, he held a sword that was as long as his arm and the blade glimmered in the sunlight. Next to him, on his knees, was the Pharaoh, Atemu, his hands tied behind his back. He hovered over a small log, one that was covered in old blood. "Please let him go!"
"SILENCE!" The man yelled at the top of his lungs. Everyone in the coliseum stopped and looked at the man, who the gang assumed, was their King. "Here I stand before you, with the man accused of killing my beloved Kathrine!" The crowd booed. "He was caught in the act of not only murder, but of rape!" More people shouted angrily. "Caught red handed, and yet he ran. We searched for days and found nothing! But finally he has been captured!" He looked towards the stage and grinned. "And today, my people, we will allow Kathrine to rest easy. Today this man...will be executed!" The crowd cheered.
"NO!" Yugi screamed and tried to get past the guards, but they held him back. "Please I'm begging you!!" He screamed at the top of his lungs, struggling to break free from the guard that had just picked him up. He cursed how small and weak he was, he couldn't fight back, his strength long gone from just the journey alone. He wanted, no he needed, to save his friend.
Atemu sat on his knees, his eyes clouded, his face swollen and bruised from the beating he got just the night before. He had dried blood on his lips and chin, as well as a fat lip forming. He heard the voice scream, he recognized it, but could not place a face nor a name. With the strength he had left, he lifted his head and looked up towards the voice. When his eyes met Yugi's, he remembered. "Yugi?" He softly whispered. His voice cracked, he hadn't had anything to drink nor eat since he was captured two days ago.
The king laughed. "I give no pity to people who come into my kingdom and try to tell me what to do!" He made eye contact with Atemu. "Tell me, Pharaoh! Any last words, before you die?"
Atemu shook his head slowly. "Yes." He swallowed the little bit of saliva that formed in his mouth. Speaking louder this time. "Yes. I wish that my friends, would not see what is about to happen."
"A wish?" The king asked.
"That is all I ask." Atemu bowed his head back down, too weak to hold it up any more.
"No, no, no!!" Yugi cried. "Please fight!"
Atemu shook his head, though Yugi could not hear him, he spoke. "I’m tired of fighting. Though I do not believe I did this, I know that the darkness that I locked away, has been set free. It’s all my fault." He swayed back and forth as he struggled to keep himself conscious. "Please forgive me Yugi, for I will leave you again. Maybe it is destiny...that we are not meant to be together."
The king huffed. "So be it!" He waved his hands to the guards who held Yugi and his friends back. "Take them away!"
Joey and Tristan were pulled back by the guards that held them. "Get your hands off of me!" Joey yelled, but a spear was pointed to him. "I'm going, I'm going." He raised his hands defensively and was forced through the door they were closest to.
"I hope you rot in hell!" Tristan cried out to the king as he too was dragged out.
Tea went the easiest, they didn't have to do more then pull her back. "Pharaoh!" She cried before they took her through the door as well.
"No, I won't go!" Yugi was fighting, trying to break free from the men that held him. It took two, to hold his arms and his legs, but he kept twisting and turning. "I won't leave him, I won't!" He screamed, he thrashed around, he refused to watch the Pharaoh die, he refused to lose him again! But he was too weak, they were able to drag him away as well.
The king turned back to the scene in front of him. "Be gone, your highness!" He waved his hand, ordering the man with the sword to begin.
The man nodded, he forced Atemu's head down onto the log, which didn't take much due to how weak the Pharaoh already was. The man took a couple steps back, swung his arm a couple times to prepare for one hit to do what he was ordered to do.
Atemu closed his eyes, he hurt all over, both physically and emotionally. He didn't kill that woman, he knew he didn't, but he was tired of fighting. He was tired of watching people he cared about suffer! He was foolish enough to attempt to come back from the dead, to be with Yugi. By doing so he released the darkness that was suppose to be locked away! He was the reason they were in Ancient Rome. He was the reason Yugi and their friends were trapped here, most likely never to return to their time. Though he did not commit the crime, Atemu was willing to take the punishment, to end the suffering, to hopefully get his friends back to where they belonged. Atemu began to cry. "I love you, Yugi."
"Please stop this!!" Yugi ran through the door, he had escaped from the guards. He jumped over the wall, landing on his feet, hard. He ignored the pain and began to ran towards the stage, but he was too late. The executor had raised his weapon and with all the force he could muster, he swung it down...
I’m sorry...I’m so sorry... It got dark, it was suppose to be dark. However I ended it the way I did for a reason, you the reader get to decide Atemu’s fate! I have my opinion but I wanted to leave it open for the readers :) it’s fun! Hope you liked it.
