Thinking about indigenous latino Wolfwood again 😔🙌🏻
Speaking of the twins hair in Stampede, I’ve always thought it was Nai who did their haircuts. Rem mentioned to not showing his power in front of anyone else it only makes sense for Nai to use it for something only they can see
Hey you know what I’ve been thinking? I think for a long time Vash couldn’t handle seeing shooting stars, and worse, meteor showers, for reasons
Ok I have been thinking a lot about how vashwood came to be like who fell first etc… I’m having a bit of a hard time characterizing Vash because, well, he’s a century and a half old and I refuse to simplify him.
I made a post a while back about Nightow’s comments on Vash avoiding relationships and that in doing so, I think he’d broken many many human hearts with the best of intentions.
It’s so easy to be infatuated with Vash, but he’s hard to love.
What makes Wolfwood different, out of all the people Vash met in his lifetime? Wolfwood is not ideal in many ways and, well, their relationship is not healthy. So I stopped trying to rationalize what made Vash chose Wolfwood, because if he gets to choose, he wouldn’t have.
I think Wolfwood fell first (he didn’t know that) and probably made the first move (he also didn’t know that) and was met with a stone cold Vash. Vash had to know what was happening, he could see it in Wolfwood’s eyes. You can’t tell me a charming 150 year old (plant) man is unable to recognize the signs. He’d launch his protocol gently but solemnly let Wolfwood down (Wolfwood was very confused) because that’s the logical thing to do.
But Vash didn’t realize that he’s in love with Wolfwood until they’re married and divorced.
Ok this is about Stampede vashwood since it’s what I’m familiar with, sorry if you’re reading this and like tf. There are so many nuances that’s not in this post but I’m currently trying to dissect them in fic(s)…
Tldr; I think Wolfwood fell first (he didn’t know it) and Vash was like no (out of habit) but they’re already too deep in it.
Making up Trigun food lore instead of sleeping and now I’m kinda hungry
It’s either lab grown/artificially made or it’s toma or worms. Toma eggs are similar to Earth bird eggs; they’re just called eggs and not toma eggs because chicken doesn’t exist on NML.
Lab meats look like ham/deli meats/sausages. They also have that kind of texture. “Leafy greens” are produced in long strips like seaweed. Root vegetables like potatoes and carrots aren’t in their Earth shapes or they have skins.
There are edible Earth plants being grown on ship three, but no where near enough to feed its waking residents. This is my excuse to feed Nick Earth veggies and make him cry.
This is all because I want to write a campfire cooking fic and I’m not strong enough like Nightow to just going for the vibes and character dynamics
Vash and Nai’s clothes on ship five
I think there wasn’t any children’s clothing on board, and the baby twins’ tunics were made from women’s shirts, possibly Rem’s own.
(I realized it’s too small and hard to read on mobile, sorry!)
Seeds clothes: geometric cut, straight lines, panels
Vash/Nai’s tunic: awkward length, shoulders are too big, sleeves are 3/4 length and wide, misaligned necklines, curved center seams
I think the clothes were altered to fit the twins better width wise, hence the curved center seams. It was taken apart from the center (front/back), extra fabric was cut, then sewn back together.
My thoughts on the under layer that covers their hands and feet: it’s likely the same thing as Knives’ suit. I think it’s a plant thing; they’re like the fluffy coat baby seals have that sheds as they grow. The twins were born with it, then goes away somehow when they were pre-teens (before they met again 5 years post the big fall). Knives probably decided he’s sick of humans clothes so he used his plant power to grow (?) it back. I like the implication that he feels safe in his baby blanket. Vash doesn’t know how to do it.
Really want to write a campfire cooking fic (yes I’m watching Campfire Cooking in Isekai with my Absurd Skill, it’s such a gem but we really gotta stop with these absurdly long titles, also I cook as well) and I have this mental image of Vash using his gun as a makeshift meat mallet and it makes me giggle
