I’m just needed to get my Trimax + Stargaze comparisons out of my brain because its genuinely boggling my mind

GOD. This panel I think sums up exactly why Stargaze makes me so angry (I’ve talked about this with friends who are also watching stargaze and we all have the same consensus that even though wolfwood dying is heartbreaking, that’s the point, and it makes Vash’s battle between Legato so POIGNANT.)

I feel like if they try and backtrack now, it’ll land so flat. We’ve already got Livio back on our side, so Wolfwood has no reason to push his body so far to kill chapel (WHO ISN’T EVEN PRESENT, WHY??) protect the orphanage and do everything in his power to not kill Livio.

There’s no moment where Vash is going to be forced to pick between letting his best friends sacrifice go to waste, or let go of the morals he’s built his life around, letting go of what his believes is his last connection his mother.

Trigun Stamp/Stargaze is so afraid of creating divisive/selfish moments for its “morally good” characters that they’ve effectively flattened any tension or emotional weight that makes Trimax so satisfying in the first place.

Kill your darlings when its appropriate to stargaze.

me watching episode 2 of stargaze: wait, no, no I didn’t mean let Vash kill hoppered. oh my god he actually killed hoppered. Why- what wait no this is meant for Legato, what the fuck what is happening- (and you cannot expect me to believe that vash couldn’t pull his hand away, Trimax vash would no have let Hoppered force him to pull the trigger I’m sorry.)
