the lingerbeest used to be just one character in Pitmedden, but I realized it may be more fun if they're more a category of the Not-Here Being so heavily reliant on the imaginations and dreams of children, they're the sort of mix and match of animals that you'd find a child drawing.

I've decided to spruce up my sideblog that I've neglected for,, 2 years.. anyway! that's going to be where all my fandom yapping goes now, and possible sketches for fandom things? I haven't really decided yet,, so I apologize if you've been following this blog for any of the fandom things I post!! I'm focusing my energy on new things ^^ @nautilousanchor here's my side blog!

did a little style frame test for an animation that I'm working on!! I definitely got,,, a little carried away- BUT I think it will be so worth it for this shot specifically LOL This is part of a bigger storyboarding sequence that I have, I want to do one or two polished sections FULLY animated and then share that will you all :D

realizing that I think I need to seriously start prioritizing the stories and characters that I want to make instead of fandom work curse of wanting to do too many things!! I think there's gonna be an intentional shift on a lot of my accounts to specifically animation/storyboards and comics. and I keep saying this- but I am making a promise to myself this summer that youtube is becoming a bigger priority!!! I do still love making art for transformers, trigun and Hk (I will still be getting through my waitlist of comms no worries about that!!) but I think at the end of the day its not super fulfilling for me to share and get traction from, I'd rather keep exploring a personal style and dig into the mediums that I care about but have been neglecting ^^

the kids aren’t cooked, you just need to hang out with them in the woods.

I mean you meet these young people trapped in their classrooms or nuclear families in paved over neighborhoods, you are going to see them at the lowest points of forced routine, atomization, gutted autonomy, academic stress, you are going to see them at their worst. you’re going to see addictive behavior. bad social skills. lashing out. uncreativity. laziness and distraction. they do look totally cooked.

you need to take them into the woods

I do outdoor education work, and within minutes of any elementary to middle schooler getting free permission to mess around with their friends in a clearing, they’re curious and driven again. they’re asking each other questions and yeeting pinecones at trees (science) and using their bodies. sometimes for evil. as is developmentally right. they want to know the names of birds! they want to teach someone pokemon! they want to build stuff and kick stuff and tackle each other and you into the snow!

they’re basically fucking institutionalized for 90% of their lives but their spirits are alive. you need to take them into the woods you need to treat them like animals with powerful inner lives and they’ll show you they are.

and you, if you feel like you’re relating too much, remember that you can also take YOURSELF to the woods

trimax panel redraws ft. the most obnoxious colours i could think of

new animation on my channel! I had a lot of fun trying to get into a more action focused animation. Definitiely one of those projects where now that I'm done I think I could do a lot better, so cheers to the next thing I decide to make!!

MAJOR TRIGUN MAX SPOILERS UNDER THE BAR- and all of these are opinions not bashing stargaze enjoyers!

I’m just needed to get my Trimax + Stargaze comparisons out of my brain because its genuinely boggling my mind

GOD. This panel I think sums up exactly why Stargaze makes me so angry (I’ve talked about this with friends who are also watching stargaze and we all have the same consensus that even though wolfwood dying is heartbreaking, that’s the point, and it makes Vash’s battle between Legato so POIGNANT.)

I feel like if they try and backtrack now, it’ll land so flat. We’ve already got Livio back on our side, so Wolfwood has no reason to push his body so far to kill chapel (WHO ISN’T EVEN PRESENT, WHY??) protect the orphanage and do everything in his power to not kill Livio.

There’s no moment where Vash is going to be forced to pick between letting his best friends sacrifice go to waste, or let go of the morals he’s built his life around, letting go of what his believes is his last connection his mother.

Trigun Stamp/Stargaze is so afraid of creating divisive/selfish moments for its “morally good” characters that they’ve effectively flattened any tension or emotional weight that makes Trimax so satisfying in the first place.

Kill your darlings when its appropriate to stargaze.

me watching episode 2 of stargaze: wait, no, no I didn’t mean let Vash kill hoppered. oh my god he actually killed hoppered. Why- what wait no this is meant for Legato, what the fuck what is happening- (and you cannot expect me to believe that vash couldn’t pull his hand away, Trimax vash would no have let Hoppered force him to pull the trigger I’m sorry.)
