Yesterday I felt so good until about 8:30. Tonight I don’t feel good, my ankle is incredibly stiff and painful and I’m struggling. I keep trying to find the positives and focus on recovery but I’m a little lost tonight. Everything is harder than I thought it would be and I hurt almost all the time. Which is somehow worse than hurting all the time? Because I can forget for a *just* a minute that my ankle was shattered and I have plates and screws and I feel like normal and then I go to move and it’s a double whammy that I’m not able to do any sort of movement without hurting. It just sucks tonight.
Surgery went well. I have a plate on both sides due to low bone density (which did not contribute to the accident) and no ligament damage which is amazing! Yesterday’s X-ray came back looking really good. So we got official permission to start walking! It’s weird when you have to focus on remembering how to walk correctly.
