Queen of Cups: Compassion, Support, Intuition

The Queen of Cups card really seems like it’s tailor made for Milly, with its themes of care and support. She is far and away the most emotionally intelligent character in the main four and can understand Vash, Meryl, and Wolfwood in ways they may not even be able to understand themselves, and supports each of them at various points in the story. However, despite the relative uniqueness of this trait within Trigun (and the connotations of the word “Queen” in the card title), Milly isn’t one to view herself as being above others. So, when designing this card, I decided to forgo some of the more traditional Queen of Cups imagery in favor of something that felt more down to earth and true to her character. Milly is a queen of the people. She’s your friend. Someone who you can grab some tea and pastries with. Just make sure she’s taking care of herself too alright?
