Tagging asks, cutting posts, and more!
Being an RP resource blog, I get a lot of questions from folks new to the tumblr RP scene, and one thing people ask me a lot, is how to cut their posts.
It’s something a lot of people have in their rules. That they will not follow if a blogger doesn’t cut their posts. In the past, all that meant was editing the post down smaller. But with changes to tumblr’s reblog system, you either have to keep everything, or delete everything, which removes context for the person replying.
Enter: XKit. Or new XKit, rather. It’s being run by a new team.
XKit has an extension on it that allows for editing of previous responses to a post, allowing you to trim your post, while still leaving what you’re responding to in a post.
That’s not all it can do! It has an askbox improvement extension which allows you to tag asks, or even keep your responses to private asks. There’s a function that timecodes posts on your dash so you can see at a glance if it’s active. There’s also one that allows you to label the people on your dash, which is useful if you have names/pronouns to remember, or gamer tags to take note of, if you’re in a gaming fandom. There’s also blacklist functions, adblocking, and a cute pokemon collector thing that helps pass the time when dash scrolling.
It’s almost ridiculously easy to install and it works on firefox, chrome, and safari. I’d really advise you all to check it out, guys!
