“Yeah... Humans have been known to side with people for the purpose of saving their own lives, or getting access to things that they wouldn’t otherwise have. It’s the whole ideology behind M.E.C.H. on Earth.” He paused, realizing that he would have to explain himself.
“Mech is a group on Earth who believes in human superiority over technology. When Cybertronians came along, they tried to kidnap them first, but then they worked alongside a couple against the Autobots. It... Did not end well for any parties involved.”
((It’s under the cut, since it’s image heavy and gets long.
1. Open rp
2. Highlight the udername and text from the last repy (but not their icon)
3. Copy and paste it down, then add a line of placeholder text (if you’re setting it up to edit on mobile later, estimate how many paragraphs you’ll need and add that many lines of placeholder text.
4. Highlight your partner’s reply, then blockquote it. I have a plug in that makes some of the editing stuff permanently there, but the block quote icon SHOULD show when you highlight it.
5. Scroll up, hover over the locked text until the red x shows, then click it.
That’s it, there’s your trimmed rp. If your rp is still longer than the height of the screen, please tag it as “#long post” or something since really long rps can be a pain to scroll through. Or consider using a read more for your next reply.
....Well, unless you have images, then it gets harder. First do the other junk:
6. Then save your partner’s reaction images (and if they’re not small enough to not be stretched, make the canvas width 540.) If it’s someone you rp with a lot that uses the same reaction images all the time, you may wanna dedicate a folder to them or ask them to send you their reaction images.
I just screenshotted them and put them into two images, since I don’t wanna upload them 5 times. I’m glad @azolla-the-plant-villain has a white background on their blog.
7. Apparently the blocktext poofed when I added the images, so if you lost it, put it back and put in some placeholder text. Or just do that before uploading pics.
8. Change the edit mode to html.
9. Find that </blockquote> tag (I’d recommend using ctrl+F to search.)
10. Cut it out, then find the last </figure> tag and paste it afterwards.
11. Delete the placeholder.
12. Preview it, make sure you didn’t break the code, and save your draft because trimming image heavy rps is time consuming and you don’t wanna do it again.
(I guess this is also a good time to mention I have had to unfollow a few people on this account, on Decima, and on Lucullus recently. I'm on mobile quite often and there were multiple accounts that were constantly reblogging posts without trimming them. It got to the point where it was taking me a ridiculous amount of time to scroll through my dash.
If I unfollowed you recently this may be the reason why. I am very sorry in advance but this has gone far enough. I have made several posts begging people to please trim their posts and the accounts I unfollowed never listened. I can't take it anymore.)
// I cannot trim posts--if you can't deal with that, please unfollow me.
I'm done with getting all of these anons, some of which can get a bit rude (not to say some people aren't polite about it), telling me to trim my posts. I am almost always on mobile, and if I save to drafts to edit it, there's a 40/70 chance it'll either a) actually work or b) my phone decides to not save the work and/or the app crashes. If you can't deal with that, then /please/ unfollow me. Don't send me an anonymous message /telling/ me to trim them. I can't do anything about it, and it's just plain rude. Again, that is NOT to say I haven't gotten people (including those off anon) who have been super polite and nice about it: they were lovely, and seemed to understand that I couldn't when I explained--I greatly appreciate that, thank you. But I've been getting more and more lately, and I'm done explaining it to each one: I'm just going to link them to this post. To those who continue to follow me: thank you, you are truly lovely. To those who do not: thank you for once doing so, and I wish you well. Thank you. -A
