Trine of Two Deleted Scene: Bee's Confession (unfinished)
Found this in my notes back when I went on a mini vacation- but I guess I forgot to go back to it lmao. I hope you like the sweet scene!
Julian awoke from recharge to the sound of someone trying to patch into his comm link and he shifted, lifting a servo up to connect the call with a sleepy yawn, mindful of Starscream who was dozing in his own berthroom only a few meters away.
.: “Bee?”:. He said, recognizing the familiar, humming signature of the yellow mech. He felt himself wake up a little more. .: “Everything okay?”:.
Bumblebee quickly reassured him that everything was fine before asking him in a quick burst of blips if he could meet up with him somewhere before sending him a set of coordinates that would land him somewhere in… Greenland?
Julian checked his HUD, noting the time before shrugging. Starscream would be asleep for .: “Yeah, be with you in a sec.”:.
The comm disconnected and Julian slid out of his berth to make his way towards the Harbinger’s groundbridge, making sure to snatch up the remote that Starscream had left beside the energon processor. Wonder why Bee wants to meet up all the way over in Greenland…
Pocketing the remote, Julian set the coordinates into the console and activated the groundbridge. And after he typed a short note for his twin, he skipped through the portal, curious to see what Bumblebee had in store.
Bumblebee shifted from pede to pede nervously, wondering if the signal dampener Ratchet had thrown together would be able to mask his and Deadeye's energon signatures long enough for him to achieve what he was setting out to do.
Calm down, Bee, Bumblebee thought to himself with a deep intake of air; the crisp feeling of it seeping into his overheating protoform in a cloud of steam. You're just going to ask out the nice seeker, no biggie.
His intakes stuttered when a groundbridge opened up only a short distance away, and he could make out the familiar- lovely- outline of the nice seeker in question.
Deadeye's mismatched optics locked onto him and he smiled wide and beautifully at Bumblebee. “Hey, Bee!”
No biggie? Bumblebee thought hysterically as he beeped his own greeting to the seeker, the other wholly unaware of his internal struggle. This is definitely in the realm of ‘biggie!’
“So, why Greenland? I have to know,” Deadeye said as he trudged over to him, getting close enough for Bumblebee to feel the heat radiating off of his frame.
I am going to die, Bumblebee thought to himself as he told Deadeye that he wanted to show the seeker something he discovered back when he and the rest of the Autobots were searching for a good place to establish their base, before Agent Fowler set them up in Nevada.
Deadeye grinned. “Oh? We're going to go sightseeing? Man, it's been a while since I did something like that.” He made a dramatic, flourishing gesture towards Bumblebee and winked. “Lead the way, my friend.”
Do I even have a chance? Bumblebee thought anxiously as he began leading them to the place he'd stumbled across by accident- a place that had been devoid of human life and one he himself had enjoyed relaxing in for a few joors before he returned to the others.
Won't know until I ask, Bumblebee thought determinedly, glancing over at where Deadeye was looking around curiously before the seeker’s optics locked onto his and soon Bumblebee felt the telltale way his wings knocked against his affectionately, nearly sending him into stasis on the spot.
“Aren't you cold?” Deadeye asked him, leaning closer with a frown. “I've got extra padding so I don't feel it like I did back in Antarctica, but I can already see you shivering, Bee.”
Bumblebee hadn't even noticed, far too preoccupied with Deadeye being… there. Next to him, all warm.
Shaking his helm, he checked his HUD and noted that the temperature had dropped much further than it had the first time he visited.
He turned and burbled that he would be alright for a few hours and that he really wanted to show Deadeye what he'd found, to the seeker's reluctant amusement.
“Alright,” Deadeye said. “But I'm not going to tolerate my bud freezing to death, so I'm gonna do this-”
‘This’, being the arm that suddenly wrapped around Bumblebee's abdominal plating, pulling him closer to the seeker’s warm frame.
Bumblebee was certain that he saw Primus smiling down at him for an instant before he was drawn back into the present when Deadeye laughed, and hugged him closer. “Hah! You are freezing! But I've got you. Now come on, before the both of us turn into one of those ice sculptures the humans like to make.”
Bumblebee made a faint sound of assent, stating that they were nearly there, hyper aware of the way his friend's arm periodically tightened around him as they walked.
Not that I'm complaining, Bumblebee thought blissfully. This is wonderful.
Huh, has Bee always been so small? Julian mused to himself as he looked down at the yellow mech that he had pressed against his side, grinning a bit at the almost inaudible purring he could hear from the mech.
Aw, he's like a cat, Julian thought, delighted. What if I…?
He subtly squeezed Bumblebee closer to himself and nearly squealed when the purring got louder. I need to do this more often. This is amazing
He was so focused on seeing how loud he could make Bumblebee purr that he nearly forgot that they were actually doing something until the mech in question halted and gently moved away from him, his face glowing a light blue as he motioned towards something as he told him to look.
Julian immediately missed having Bumblebee so close to him but turned his helm to look anyway, and felt his optics widen as an awed, “Woah,” slipped out of his mouth.
They had made it to an overhang, the flora parting to reveal a ravine below, a kaleidoscope of colors dancing across the evening sky above it. Behind the shimmering colors, Julian could just make out the faint shine of the stars that dotted the darkening sky.
“An Aurora borealis?” Julian whispered. “Bee, this is-” he turned and paused when he noticed Bumblebee standing a few ways away, seemingly frozen in place. “Bee?”
Bumblebee startled, having been caught up by the way the lights danced across Deadeye's frame, making the seeker look downright ethereal.
And now Deadeye was looking at him in slight confusion, his optics standing out vividly in the gentle glow around him.
“Bee?” He said, his helm tilting to the side. “You okay there?”
