This neat Festival style church replaced an early Victorian chapel which was destroyed during the Blitz. The chapel's bell survived and was installed in the new structure. It was built as a part of the Poplar's Exhibition of Live Architecture for the Festival of Britain in 1951. Designed by Cecil Handisyde & D Rogers Stark.
