“I’m sorry Lance…” you sighed, lying beside him in your big, king-sized mattress.

Lance had been so stressed with his mother around, even just for forty-eight hours of her being here.  He was exhausted by the end of the day and barely talked to you when it was just you two.

“I thought maybe we could impress your mom with all this… I didn’t really think about how she’d affect your mental state…” you apologized, genuinely wanting him to know that you were sorry.

“I forgive you.  It’s not entirely your fault anyway…” he replied, holding your hand that was rested on the freshly cleaned sheets, “I should’ve at least told you why I didn’t like her, instead of just vaguely insulting her…”.

“I promise I’ll make it up to you when she’s gone,” you said, cupping his cheek and kissing his forehead.  “Get some sleep, sweetheart, you need it,”.

Lance walked downstairs, stretching once he reached the bottom and giving a hearty yawn.  He felt good this morning.  He had gotten a full night’s rest, he had a nice hot shower, and he got a good morning kiss from you this morning.  With a soft grin on his face, he strolled into the living room to grab his magazine from the table.

“Lancey?” His mother called.  She didn’t sound mad, but she didn’t sound pleased either.  “What’s this?” She asked, pointing to the bi pride flag hung on the wall.

Oh fuck he forgot she was here.  Lance swallowed once he processed what she had asked.  This would not go down smoothly… “that’s a, Uh… bisexual… pride… flag…,” he admitted, trying not to choke on his fear.

Kathy tutted, taking a deep breath.  Who knew it was possible to breathe condescendingly?  “A what pride flag?” She asked.  It’s not that he didn’t hear him, she was just giving him a chance to change what he said.

“... bisexual…” Lance said in his smallest, quietest voice.

“Cmon Lance!” She cried, startling both you and your boyfriend, “I can handle you being gay; at least the media would like you, but BIsexual?  That’s just being indecisive…”.

Lance didn’t even retort, he just sat up, eerily calm, took his magazine, and marched back upstairs.  He was going to pretend this morning didn’t happen.  Maybe even pretend he didn’t exist.

You watched, mouth agape, unable to decide what to do.  “What the fuck was that?” you groaned at Kathy, flipping her off as you went upstairs to comfort your boyfriend.

You quietly approached the bedroom door, knocking on the door softly.  “Lance?  Baby?” you called gently, not wanting to startle or upset him further.

He only responded with a half-sob, half-groan.

“Darling, it’s me, Kathy is still downstairs… It’s just me,” you said, “we don’t have to talk about it, I just know you need someone right now,”.

“Go away!  I don’t need any damn hugs!” he shouted, throwing something at the door,  scaring you so badly you jumped away from the door with a shriek.

Lance hadn’t come out of his room all day, and you were really concerned.  You decided to clean up the house a bit, open some windows and light a few candles, just to clear the air and bring some literal and metaphorical light in. “Lance, you really need to come out…” you hummed, scared he’d yell at your or throw something again, “we’re going to see Dinah- I’ve told her about what’s going on and she really wants to see you to help...:”

“I cancelled my appointment,” he grumbled, the bed creaking from the other side of the door.

You didn’t know what to say.  “You… WHAT?!” you gasped, trying not to yell, “Lance, you can’t cancel your appointment!  Not this week!  You nnneeeeeedd to see Dinah!”.

“I’m fucking fine, bitch!  I’ll just see her next week, no need to get your panties in a bunch,” he scoffed, opening the door forcefully, startling you.

There were bags under his eyes, he was wearing his oldest, grossest clothes, his hair was messy again, and his nails were bit down to the nub.  Tell tale signs he was coping badly.  That’s what Dinah even told him!

“Lance, you’re a mess…” you whispered, feeling so bad for him.  What was he spiraling into?  “Lance, c’mon baby, let’s get you cleaned up and out of the house…” you said softly, putting your hand on his arm to guide him to the bathroom.

He scowled at you, fighting out of your grip.  “Let go!  Geez, stop nagging…” he whined, ripping away from you.

“Lance!  Sweetheart!” he slammed the door back in your face, flopping back down in bed.

Why EVERYONE needs to buy tickets to see Pitch Perfect 3 DECEMBER 22 2017

Please read!!! 

I know what most of you guys are thinking. Why the hell do I need to see this movie, when I can go see Star Wars or The Greatest Showman? (Both also great movies which you guys have to see). Or this franchise is so overrated, it's always the same blah blah... 

Pitch Perfect 3 has been recognized as being a "triple f" movie. A triple f movie is one where the film is directed and written by women and its cast is significantly composed of women. Triple f movies are quite rare in the Hollywood industry. In the top 100 grossing films of 2016, "women accounted for 14% of all directors, writers, executive producers, producers, editors, and cinematographers". (Womenandhollywood.com). 

As you can see, having a Hollywood, mainstream movie with a female director, female writer, and an all female cast is pretty unique. 

Pitch Perfect 3′s director is named Trish Sie. The writer is named Kay Cannon, also known for her work in the other two pitch perfect movies and girl boss. 

The cast: 

Anna Kendrick (ily), Rebel Wilson (recently won a defamation case and is donating more than $4 Million to charity), Brittany Snow (co-founder of the foundation Love is Louder), Anna Camp (Good Girls Revolt), Hailee Steinfeld, Alexis Knapp, Ester Dean (songwriter), Hana Mae Lee (Designer), Chrissie Fit, Kelley Jackle, Shelley Regner, Ruby Rose, and Elizabeth Banks. 

Also, the main theme that surrounds the franchise is friendship (as corny as that may seem), but this bond was created to empower women. To make them feel as if anything is possible, especially little girls out there who want to express themselves freely. Yes, all characters are your typical stereotypes, but they embrace it and acknowledge it. The Bellas lift each other up and don't tear themselves down when there is competition within the group.

So please, buy tickets to see Pitch Perfect 3, this 22nd of December 2017. Hell you don't even have to see the movie, but support it in any way possible because, first of all, it has to be reflected at the box office for Hollywood to see its value, and also to support the creation of more triple f movies!!!!! Take your family, your dog, cat, friends, boyfriend, girlfriend, cousins, uncles, aunts, your fish!!! 

Come on guys, it's the holidays! Celebrate with some good music and a love filled movie.

Steam rose from the bowl of hot vegetable soup as you handed it to Lance.  He gave a small grin as he took the warm bowl in his hands.  The welcomed heat felt good as the pouring rain outside made the house FREEZING.

Lance had been quiet most of the day, after you had caught him crying.  You were glad you didn’t walk in at that moment- he would have closed himself up like a clam and you wouldn’t have been able to communicate with him.  But now, YOU were the one who was nervous to talk.  You didn’t want to embarrass him.  And what if you were wrong?  What if it wasn’t what you thought it was?  But… you had to talk to him.  If you were wrong, you were wrong, end of story.  But if it was a problem, it had to be taken care of.

“Lance?” You squeaked from your seat across from him at the table, “I need to talk to you about something…”.

The color drained from his face.  That phrase never gave off good vibes.  “Y-Yes?” He muttered, a bit frightened.

“I saw you… in your… in your office today…” you said, teeth worrying on your lip, “you were upset… crying.. I Uh… I wanted to know… know if you were okay?  You haven’t really been… yourself lately,”

Lance sighed, holding his head in his hands.  He tried not to cry again.  “You… you were right… I’m a fucking asshole…” he sniffed, voice cracking, “I wanted to change but I can’t change- I’m so far gone I’m… im not worth it… I just wanted to change…”

Your heart broke as he rambled and sobbed, heartfelt word vomit spilling from his mouth.

“Lance,” She said softly, grabbing his hand to hold it, “I think we should get you professional help,”

He looked at you with glassy eyes.  “Like… like a Uh… a shrink?” He mumbled, using his sleeve to wipe his face.

“A therapist, yes,” you nodded, giving him a reassuring smile, “they can help you with your outbursts and work you through your issues,”.

He chuckled, “Lord knows I have issues,”.

“I’ll do some research and get you an appointment soon,” you grinned, kissing his hand softly, hoping he’d receive the token if assuring affection.

Lance sat in the lobby, his leg bouncing anxiously.  He gnawed on his knuckles, since you told him he could chew gum at the psychologist's office.

You filled out his insurance and payment information, naming yourself as his emergency contact.  “Calm down Lance,” you said softly, pressing your hand against his knee to stop his leg bouncing.

“How can I stay calm?  I’m about to spill my guys out to a complete stranger so they can dissect my br- oh” he stopped his rant when you handed him a puzzle cube to solve.  Honestly, sometimes he was like a little kid.

“What’s this guy’s name again?” He asked, grunting as he failed the puzzle and tried again.

“HER name is Dinah,” you answered, “Dinah Gilman- she’s a good therapist, she’ll be able to help you.  And if not, she’ll find you one that will,”.  You smiled at him confidently.  Hopefully him knowing that you were calm would help keep him calm.

A slightly older lady came in, her Afro pushed back slightly with a bright yellow head scarf.  “Lance?” She called sweetly.

He looked up at her and gulped.  “That… that’s me,” He stammered, standing up, shoving his puzzle into his hoodie pocket.

You grinned, giving Lance’s hand a squeeze as you handed Dinah the clipboard with all of his information.  “You’ll be alright, big guy, she’s here to help you,” You reminded him.

“I promise I won’t bite,” she chuckled, her purple lipstick highlighting her smile.

Lance took a deep breath and followed Dinah to her office/ couch room.

You smiled contently, picking up the book you braught.  You were proud of Lance for finally getting the help he needed- asking for help and being vulnerable was hard, especially as a dude.

“I’ll see you next week, darling,” Dinah grinned, waving goodbye to Lance before walking back to her office.

“How was your first session?” you asked cheerfully, putting your book back in your bag.

“It was… fine,” he shrugged.  It wasn’t the most glowing report, but you weren’t going to force Lance to talk about it- the session was private talk between him and a professional.

“Well I’m glad you’ll be seeing her again,” you grinned, patting his shoulder sweetly, “thank you for stepping out of your comfort zone to better your health,”.

There was a second date.  There were actually many more dates.  Fifty-seven, to be exact.  But who was counting?  Lance was, he loved you very much.

Now that Lance was in a lot healthier spot, it was a lot easier to be integrated heavily into his life.  He didn’t have as many emotional barriers to keep people out, nor did he have his douchey facade to hide behind.  He was working very hard to achieve emotional health and proper communication.

Because of all his progress, Lance felt comfortable attending the coveted, yet dreaded, high school reunion!

Most people, when they see the invitation to their high school reunion in the mail, scream, burn the envelope, and cleanse the house with sage and holy water.  Which is normally what Lance would do, with the added step of binge drinking to forget.  But, this time, Lance seriously considered going.

“Hey, babe?” He called, looking at the glossy postcard, “are we doing anything March tenth?”.

“Uhm… no?” You answered, unloading the dishwasher, “why?”.

“Wanna be my plus one to my high school reunion?” He asked, smiling, showing you the invitation.

“Sure, I’m up for a night out with free food,” you chuckled, handing him his phone to RSVP.

This was great!  Lance would go out there, socialize, see old friends, show off his girlfriend and how great his life is!  This would be fun… right?

“I say.. the white one,” Lance hummed, adjusting his tie, “You look good in floral,”.

You blushed and booped his nose as you slipped your robe off to put on the dress.  “Do you know if any of your friends are gonna be at this thing?” You asked, fluffing your hair.

“I know my old friend Shannon will be there… Gavin, you know Gavin… Uh… Danny?  Maybe?  I don’t know, half the time Danny replies he doesn’t show up,” Lance chuckled, racking his brain for anymore people he might know.

“What were you like in high school?” You asked, a bit out of the blue.

Lance stayed quiet for a moment.  “I Uh… I was always at the gym… training to be an Olympian… the typical athlete I guess,” he shrugged, “wasn’t too interested in academics, but I always had perfect attendance!”.

“That’s because you refused to take sick days, dummy,” you laughed, hoping to lighten the mood; he was clearly uncomfortable.

The party was beautiful, simple, but beautiful.  The gym was nicely decorated, the food was great, and there was an open bar- perfect.

Lance was showing you off to all his friends, engaged in conversation, actually smiling.  You were proud of him.

“We’re gonna go get drinks, I’ll see you around Ryan!” Lance said, waving goodbye as you lead him to the punch table.

“Hey, would you look at that, Lance is back,” a grating, throaty voice scoffed.

Lance’s face drained of color as he realized who was addressing him.  “Cameron…” he gulped.

“We’ve missed you all these years, Cameron teases, putting a ‘friendly’ hand on his shoulder.

“That makes one of us…” Lance grumbled, trying to peacefully walk away with his punch.

“Where are you going buddy?  Why don’t we have a talk?” Cameron persuaded, trying to lead lance into a private corner.  Lance was having none of this.

“N-no… I gotta get back to my girlfriend,” He stammered, clamming up.

“GIRLfriend?” Cameron laughed, making sure the whole room heard.  Now everyone was staring at Lance.  “Geez, who knew cock sucker Tucker would have a GIRLfriend!” He screamed.

You were so confused.  Cock sucker Tucker?  Wait a minute…

“GO AWAY CAMERON!  I don’t want to cause trouble!” Lance said, shaking with anxiety.

“It’s not trouble, I just want you to tell your girlfriend what you are,” he smirked evilly.

“Don’t say it…” Lance begged, just about to cry.  Lance crying is a bad sign, Lance crying in front of an audience… that’s a meltdown.

You ran up to him, trying to get him away from the situation.  “C’mon, sweetheart, let's go home,” you whispered, leading him away.

“Oh so YOU’RE the chick dating this-“ Cameron hummed.

“DON’T SAY IT!” Lance cried

“This... PHAGGOT,”

Lance snapped.  Lance whipped around, too quick for you to react and stop him, and splashed his glass of cherry punch all over Cameron’s white shirt and blazer.

Cameron had a bad look in his eyes.  He reached over to the table, grabbed the whole punch bowl, and dumped it on Lance head, soaking him in sticky fluid, semi-melted ice cream, and pineapple chunks.

“Fuck… you…” Lance breathed out, seething.  He marched out angrily- this was a mistake.

The room was eerily quiet as Dinah scribbled notes in her pink, holographic notebook.  It was so quiet, Lance cringed at the sound of his clothes shifting against each other as he hugged his knees to his chest.

Lance had been seeing Dinah consistently every week for about a month and a half, and he had gotten very comfortable with her; (Y/N) was right, she really did help him.  He was noticing fewer temper tantrums, he felt less depressed, he was being a bit more social instead of isolating himself, he felt a lot better.

“So why don’t you think she’ll accept your offer?” Dinah asked, looking up at him with a smile to comfort him.

Lance took a second to answer.  “Well… because I’ve been an asshole to her for years,” he sighed, resting his chin on his knees, “I’ve been so rotten to her- why would she want to go out with me?”

“You have been nicer to her recently, correct?” she hummed, .

“I suppose,” he mumbled in reply.

“And you said last week that you apologized to her, is that right?” she continued.

“I did… she accepted it…” he hummed, “but what if she was just saying that to be nice?!”

Dinah sighed, looking him in the eye.  “From the way you talk about (Y/N) I don’t think she’d fake forgiveness,” she explained softly, “and you can’t know for sure unless you ask her- I say it’s worth a try,”.

He sighed heavily, his stomach already twisting from nervousness.  “I guess you’re right…” he nodded, taking a deep breath, “I’ll give it a try, I’ll ask her,”.

“Good!  I’m glad you’re taking that risk,” she smiled, very proud of him.  He was so closed off, she was happy he was opening himself up a bit.  “And remember, even if she says no, that doesn’t mean you’re any less valuable, nor does it mean you aren’t making progress,” she reminded him.

You looked up from her book and smiled as she saw Lance waving goodbye to Dinah.  “How was it?  Do you feel better?” you asked, getting the car keys out of your bag.  He had such a stressful week and he was really on edge, so this session was really needed.

“I feel good,” he nodded quietly, shoving his hands in his pockets.  He didn’t want to talk… not yet anyway.

You smiled kindly as Lance watched you vacuum the living room.  Lance had been sitting on the couch awfully quiet for the past few hours- he wasn’t normally like this.

“Are you okay, coach?” You asked, turning off the dirt devil for a minute so you could hear him.

He nodded unceremoniously.

“You don’t seem okay…” You hummed, sitting on the couch next to him, “you’re too quiet to be ‘okay’.  What’s wrong?”

He took a deep breath, trying gather up whatever courage he had- which wasn’t much.  “I just… I wanna ask you something…” he mumbled.

“Anything,” you smiled sweetly, trying to subtly show that he was safe telling you.

“I Uhm… would you… Do ya… wanna Uhm… wanna go out sometime?” He asked shyly, “I can… want to take you out to… to dinner…”.  He held his breath, waiting for your answer.

Your expression softened.  Then became hesitant as your brows furrowed.  Would it be wise to go out with your boss?  Well… maybe… why not?  “Sure,” you grinned

“Wait what?” Lance gaped.  She actually said YES!  He was so excited!  “Yes?  Yes!  Thank you!” He squealed, “how about Friday night?”

“Sounds good to me,” she grinned, loving to see him smile so wide.

You were changing in the girl’s locker room at the gym, since Lance wanted to go out right after work.  You’ve never seen him this excited for something since… ever.  He had even done his own laundry for once, wanting his suit to be perfect.  With all his preparations, you were a bit afraid you were underdressed.  Was a pink dress too baby-ish?  Maybe you should have worn flats…

You walked out of the locker room, still fluffing your hair to adjust it properly- this one stupid lock just wouldn’t lie flat!  Setting your black flats on the floor to slip them on, you could hear Lance’s jaw drop to the floor.

“Stunning…” he beamed, looking at your figure up and down, “I never thought pink could look so good,”.

You chuckled shyly, your face blushing.  “That’s very sweet of you,” you rasp, your voice suddenly gone.

“A-are you ready to go?” he asked, shaking his head to break the spell you had cast on him, “the reservations are in thirty minutes,”.

The dance hall was huge!  Well, huge to you, someone who only attends noodle cafes and coffee shops across from Target.  There were so many nicely dressed ladies there, it made you feel a bit uncomfortable.  Thank God for the open bar.

Lance held you on his arm proudly as you both were lead by the waitress to your private booth close to the DJ.  Could you consider someone who only played jazz and swing a DJ?  WHat else would you call them?  Are there different name for- STOP!  You had to calm your mind down before you exhausted yourself.

“Get whatever you’d like,” Lance grinned, handing you a menu, “I recommend their lamb,”.

You nodded, taking a deep breath and skipping to the salad menu.

Lance gave you a look of both concern and playful judgement.  “I know what you’re doing- don’t,” he said, turning the page over to their signature dishes page as well as a wine menu.

After a ordering and getting your food, you felt a lot more comfortable around each other, talking freely and laughing loudly.  “Wanna dance before dessert?” Lance asked, gesturing to the dance floor as the Charleston started.

Your lips parted in an eager grin, nodded your head in agreement.  You took his hand and leaped onto the dancefloor with him, already moving your feet and hips.

Lance was a surprisingly clumsy dancer.  For someone who spent their entire childhood working on form and grace on a blue mat, eating, breathing, and sleeping gymnastics, his footwork was quite off.  It was fucking adorable.  Who knew you’d be the dancer out of the two of you?

Another thing, was that Lance never let go of you, he was always touching you.  He was either holding your hand, or your waist, guiding your hips or your shoulders.  He wasn’t handsy, he never pushed boundaries.  But… it was almost… affectionate.

“Phew- I need a drink,” he huffed, guiding you to a chair on the open bar.  “I’ll get us a couple sangrias, okay?” he grinned, squeezing your hand before going up the bartender.

“How much?” a strange man said to Lance, causing him to turn around from where he was waiting by the counter.

“Excuse me?” Lance hummed.  He had never seen this dude before.  HIghschool maybe?  Nah, he was much older than Lance.  This guy was at least forty-five.

“How much are you getting?” he asked, his botoxed-eye-candy mistress hanging off his arm like a cat on a leash.

“For… what?” he inquired, craning his neck.

“C’mon, there is no way a hot shot like you would get with a fat broad,” he gestured to you, sitting at the end of the bar, “how much did your friends offer to dare you to take her out?  Fifty?  Hundred bucks?”

Lance cringed at him.  Disgusting.  “I’m not getting paid… my friends don’t talk to me..” he hummed, still processing what he just said, “she’s my date!  And for your information, douchbag, she’s a nice lady!”.

“Take it from me, boy, you could do better,” he hummed, nodding in a condescending manner, “you could get a model if you wanted,”.

Without thinking about Lance actions, he punched the man straight in the nose, anger bubbling up inside of his chest.  “Don’t fucking call her that you overgrown dildo!” Lance shouted, throwing money at the bartender for everything, and storming up to you to leave.

“What’s going on?  What happened?” you gasped, shocked at Lance’s seemingly sudden burst of anger.

“It doesn’t matter- let’s get out of here,”

Lance draped a blanket over your shoulders as you ate your cheetoes.  “I’m sorry for what that dude said…” he sighed, bandaging his knuckles as he sat beside you, “I think you’re a beautiful lady,”.

You smiled shyly at him.  “Thank you for defending me- though I wish you had dealt with it in a better way,” you sighed, cupping his cheek.

“I’m sorry, I wasn’t thinking…” he muttered, playing with the strings of his hoodie, “at least I’ll have a lot to talk about next time I see Dinah,”.

You chuckled.  Even when you were upset with him (mildly), he was adorable.  “You’re a mess, Lance Tucker…” you sighed, “what am I going to do with you?”.

“I wouldn’t mind a kiss…” he said nonchalantly, pursing his lips.

You playfully rolled your eyes, kissing kiss cheek softly.

He blushed hard, showing off his perfect smile.  “Does this mean there will be a second date?”.
