AoS Rewatch: 2x10 What They Become

Wow, I have shivers every time I’m watching this episode. Definitely one of the best in season 2 and in whole series.

Scene of episode? Skye’s transformation for sure. It was brilliant, I love how they shot this - everything just fits together. And I remember having so many questions after watching this for the first time. Once again I’m glad I binge watched 4 seasons ;).

I still can’t believe that they killed Trip. He was such a ray of sunshine and didn’t deserve this. #TripLives

Skye shooting Ward is a mood, he definitely deserved this. But of course he’s not easy to kill...

I love scenes with Cal, he seems crazy but it’s obvious that he loves his daughter very much. Really, I wish we could see him again in season 7.

My Fitzsimmons heart is getting warm after what happened in last episode, because those two works the best together and they can’t stay away from each other. And Fitz trying to protect Jemma is my favorite view.

Why does Agents of Shield create these characters that I get attached to, only to take them away from me later on? I adore Trip, Lincoln, and Davis. Why did they have to die?

listen last night i dreamed about aos because apparently it still has that level of control over my life but anyway basically the cast/crew were posting behind the scenes pictures from the first day of filming s6 and the three main things i remember were-

- elizabeth didn’t have those bangs anymore and we were all celebrating on twitter (look. lil is beautiful. but those bangs. good lord.)

- the entire cast was dressed in pajamas??? and we were like??? does s6 start with a big slumber party?? what’s going on??

- bj britt was just. there. fully costumed (in pajamas of course) and on set. like they weren’t even trying to hide it or make it into a big deal he was just in the middle of all the pictures like it was totally normal.

Antoine Triplett

Trip briefly mentioned being a Legacy, but its a point of pride for him growing up, he’s so interested in history and how his family played a role in it. Trip’s grandfather was a Howling Commando, a famous black soldier that fought side by side with Captain America. He crossed borders and went on missions and kicked Nazi ass. Every time he had a show and tell in class Trip would bring one of his grandpa’s things from the war and describe in detail the adventure that went behind the item. He keeps the items, his family is small and Trip was the only one who was actually interested in having children. He wrote down every story his grandfather said, saved every picture, and he had plans to share on his grandfather’s legacy with his children. 

Growing up listening to adventures with superheroes gave Trip a good taste for adventure. He wanted to travel, he wanted to see the world and help people, and that’s how he found his path to SHIELD. In school, he worked hard and kept fit, took multiple language classes and joined a lot of clubs. In the yearbook, he was awarded most likely to receive and also best smile. After high school, he joined the Airforce and was recruited from SHIELD. There he went through training, charming the instructors and being the best agent he could be. Trip studied the flights of one Melinda May and was told by Garrett that if he joined his team that one day he would be able to meet Melinda. That’s just a brief glimpse of his life before we first meet Trip’s character in season one.

After everything goes down with SHIELD, Trip is just as lost as everyone else, he just does a better job of hiding it. He’s a jack of all trades kind of guy so he helps everyone out with their stuff. Mechanic skills had him working with Mack, base medical knowledge had him helping out in the med bay, being an all-around agent had him everywhere. He kept himself busy so he wouldn’t have to reflect on what working under Garrett possibly meant, he helped everyone else out with their problems so he wouldn’t have time to go over how lost he is. There are moments where his smiling armor would break, Melinda would catch him going overboard with the personal training, having him take a break by looking at flight plans. Daisy would bring him food and say it was because she had too much, offering to sit with him and eat while they look at plans. It was a dark time and with Trip being such a sunny personality it was them taking care of the person who took care of them. 

Trip is alive.
