Today as Tripp and I were walking around the loop along the Rock River, I saw two geese in the water. They were drifting about, nonchalantly, when all of the sudden, a little bird flew in and started pecking about the tail of the geese. I thought it was funny at first, what did this pip-squeak of a bird think he/she could do against a very much larger goose? Right about the time I thought this, one of the geese swam away, irritated at the small bird. No sooner was the other goose the intended target. And the pecking about worked wonders with the second goose moving along also. Do you think this bird was protecting home and hearth, so to speak? Or perhaps a younger baby bird that was close? I suppose I'll never know but today I saw a tiny bird move mountains...in the form of 2 geese.
