My favorite genre of shirts: Pun Shirts
Ya see, when I was about 10 maybe? My father bought me a pun shirt for Christmas or my birthday or something. Oversized because I like big clothing and because I was still a growing child and he didn't want it to stop fitting in like a few months to a year.
Oh wait, 10 was My zombie hunter shirt.
Okay when I was about 11, or maybe 12. My father bought me my first pun shirt. I think it had something to do with sarcasm. It's lost to time and likely a donation bin.
But it lit a fire in me. A burning need for puns to be displayed on me as the slowest and least witty person in the family. That way I still had a foot in the door of being funny.
It was bonding, for me. I don't know if my father and older sibling saw it that way. But my dad realized I loved the shirt and bought me another a year or two down the line. And something stupid about what type of father he was for the next shirt with text. And he bought another of that category just last year for me.
But once I had my own money I went out and bought myself clothes when needed, as people do. And I wasn't in Walmart to shop for clothing, honestly it was just on the way and closer than any pharmacy and I was getting cold medicine I think.
But this was right after Halloween, so sales were abundant for candy and costumes. And some themed clothes and decor.
On my way back towards the register side of the store from the pharmacy section. They had their seasonal stuff in this area at the front where the big Aisles between sections helped show of thr outer shelf on both ends of the section. And facing me was one of these edge shelves, I saw a crystal ball. It was interesting I thought I'd stop a second and look at it, about 3 feet the the right. Where I shuffled away as someone else decided to check out a raven statue right next to the crystal ball. Themed sweaters. Not like pumpin colored with stripes.. they were all black or white with a design front and center. Well a few skeleton ones had the bones down the sleeves too. I did buy one of those.
But I started digging through the Skeltons, and cats and ghosts. Most did not have words.
One Ghost sweater did. It had a cartoony ghost in the center and a sentence broken up by being above and below the ghost caricature.
A ghost pun. Maybe not the best. But I loved it. And bought it. And I'm only writing this because I got cold and put the sweater on. It's cozy and makes me want to watch horror movies with some candy and popcorn all by myself. Cuz. I don't need no body.
Ha get it? No body, nobody? Hahah......... yeah I told you the pun wasn't the best but that's why I bought it. I like being alone and the pun doubles for the spector and me when I have it on.
I have a baseball cap somewhere thar says if you can read this your too close on the back. Or something like that. I have like 10 different baseball caps so I'm not 100% sure I got the wording right, haven't worn it lately.
