Triptykon - Melana Chasmata (2014)
THE TRIPTYKON PLAYS CELTIC FROST FURSUITER
"At home my mother acquired 90 cats that lived in a confined space, the same space I inhabited. I grew up in faeces, urine, cockroaches, tapeworms, and maggots for years, and when I stepped outside, I was beaten violently.
That was my youth, and this is the direct link to why Hellhammer even existed. I'm not telling this to tell a tear-jerking story, it's simply the background to why my music became so dark. Why a little kid from Switzerland - not really a rock 'n' roll country- plays music that barely even exists yet. That music was a reflection of my life at the time.' - Tom G Warrior, "Black metal: Evolution of the cult"

Black Metal top
Because there's no law that says you can only put patches on a jacket or vest, and because my vest is faux leather which gets very sweaty in clubs, I've patched up one of my favourite tops.

BTW, if anyone thinks Alcest aren't the right fit for a BM themed top then they clearly haven't heard their demo, Tristesse Hivernale, which is raw as hell. And I love the beautiful floaty shoegaze/blackgaze that they evolved into.
Triptykon, whilst not BM either, are the band of the legendary Tom G Warrior of Hellhammer and Celtic Frost, one of the founding fathers of First Wave BM. Also they're fucking incredible.
Unlike on my vest where many of the patches were homemade these were all bought, though a small amount of DIY went into the Thorns patch, which was originally a t-shirt.
Even though I resized it like I do with all my shirts I never liked the way it looked on me. So I cut out the logo, and to stiffen it up in order to make it more like a bought patch and easier to sew on I used some iron-on interfacing
And I also added spikes to the shoulder straps
There's still a fair amount of space for embellishments and maybe a couple of smaller patches on the sides, but this is perfectly wearable as is.
I do have some of these satanic buttons that I bought ages ago and never used, which I may add in order to fill a few gaps, I haven't decided yet:

What I've Been Listening To- May/June/July
So I wasn't in a good place this summer, which is why I skipped June and am posting late for July. Also, RIP Ozzy which should go without saying.
Gruesome! Somehow they've put out three albums (+ other bits) of Death worship and it hasn't gotten stale yet. In fact, this may be their best release to date? Definitely worth spinning if you still worship at the altar of Chuck.
Paradise Lost! Preparing for the new album by listening to their past material, including their most recent releases. They've been on a roll for years and I hope they keep it up!
Triptykon! Really hoping we get a new album or even EP soon, I still listen to both of their LPs almost as regularly as I go back to Celtic Frost.
