playing chess with a dog etc etc but really the only logical and thematically-relevant ending for marriagetoxin would be for gero and kinosaki to be together and break the cycle that the gero clan has been pushing for generations

(or for gero to not marry and still dismantle the clan but either way his relationship with kinosaki, romantic or not, is still important)

because why would the thesis be “yeah it’s fine to perpetuate a clan system that sees women as vessels for heirs as long as you love her”, they are the POISON CLAN their practices are literally poisonous!
