It wasn’t her go to. The bar was too much of the sort of place you didn’t want to fuck over, but she had definitely gotten herself into a spot of trouble back home. The kind of trouble that led to an increase in police presence and her mother telling her to, for once, have fun without risking felony charges.

“Hey, you were the one who hit me. I’m not gonna stand here and just take it when I didn’t do anything wrong,” Hayden replied, mildly confused by the situation as he had only briefly laid a hand on her to shove her back far enough to put some distance between them so she didn’t take another swing at him.

“How the fuck does that make me a bootlicker?”

"You look like a cop sympathiser,” she countered, refusing to back down. She had seen one too many guys that looked like him that caused nothing but issues around this area and she damn sure wasn’t in the mood to deal with that.
