It was a quite cold night. A soft mist hitted the closest window of the library where Caim was leaned smoking before his night shift started. His cheeks were tinted red from his recent feeding. Glasses blurred by the crash of temperatures, as Jenny got out the door, in her typical antipathy, throwning the key in his hands without a word.
" Thanks." The man said out loud ironically as he spun the key around his forefinger.
He chuckled, opening the hall's second door whistling some unknown melody. The grumpy lady was lucky he had a policy of not killing his bosses. What in this case, was a shame because Jenny was kinda deserving it.
Caim turned on the lights, taking out his leather coat and hanging in the frayed cracking rack. Caim sighted, feeling the comfort of the familiar little sounds, observing the unpredictability of the books on the shelves, wooden smell, old pages and the marvellous saint quietness.
He passed to the inner side of the balcony.
The borrow card box was a terrible mess. The man cleaned his glasses out of habit and started to organize the little papers alphabetically untill the ring of the front door bell called his attencion.
His gaze rose up, the bridge between his eyebrows furrowed with the unusual occurrence. It made at least eight months since anyone came at the library after twilight. Well, besides some teenagers that thought it was exciting fuck in public bad lightened places.
"Hello?" His honeyed deep voice echoed.
