Triumph Herald
1960 ad. 948cc inline-four engine producing approximately 34.5 horsepower. Styled by the renowned Italian designer Giovanni Michelotti, it stood from the rest with modern "razor-edge" look and expansive glass areas. Internationally acclaim resulted in manufacturing and assembly in numerous countries, including Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and India.
The 'Impactoscopic' safety steering column was a forward-thinking safety feature. Offering 93% all-round visibility, it was designed to be one of the easiest cars to drive along with a legendary turning circle of just 25 feet. The entire front-hinged body section was innovative by lifting forward, allowing completely unobstructed access to the engine and front suspension for easy maintenance.
