“callbacks” trivia! (and some useless facts)

- it's loosely based around a fic i've been working on, where carlos and luis originally meet at an umbrella conference some years before raccoon city, with luis as a researcher and carlos as a security guard

- the title refers to the fact that their reunion here, years later, mirrors their first meeting

- the biggest callback is that “care for a smoke?” was the first thing luis said to carlos way back when

- the general idea is that their time together was cut short, they didn't get a chance to say goodbye, and they haven't heard from each other since, hence the shock of seeing each other again at all

- this has been in the works for six months and i have changed art styles three times along the way

- the page that underwent the most changes is the first one, which eventually ended up being split into two

- the smoke in the flashback actually loosely follows the outline of half an umbrella logo

- the cover is inspired by the design of luis' cigarettes

- i have never made a comic before

- this one wouldn't exist at all if not for @bennidraws my beloved (❤️) and their reunion idea and also a stray shocked luis doodle i made in january
