hi everyone. i drew my kingdom hearts oc from middle school

here's the first part of what im drawing... it's casey

workshopping new astrid design because her old outfit is childish + her old hairstyle is crazy difficult to draw in my current art style LOL like.... one of the main reasons i was going to update her design back in like 2018 on top of not liking the childish vibe her outfit gave is because my art style progressed to a point where her old hairstyle kinda didn't really make any sense anymore and was getting increasingly difficult to draw (especially her bangs which were near impossible to make sense of so as you can see they simply no longer exist)

the whole thing was she and aeris had the exact same hairstyle but reversed (like bangs parted on opposite sides) and astrid's was curly but. well just look

makes sense in a simplistic style. not in a more detailed one. curly hair just doesn't behave in a way that they could actually have the same hairstyle and it would be recognizable as the same one. and then once i made her in sims and gave her a particular hairstyle but i can't find the pic and I fear its on the hard drive i broke last year. Anyway

hi. drawing aeris and making her not look like a dmc oc was a struggle and im not sure if i was even successful but this realization made me realize i might need to think about some things wrt to the setting shes from. but to be clear she has literally nothing at all to do with dmc . theyre an oc i made in 2011 and the last revision i made to them was in like . 2018

anyway for the uninitiated this is aeris shes the protagonist of my fake story that im not really pretending is ever going to get written. they use she/they pronouns & they are a Huge bitch all the time because they have issues. she is also a half-demon & her mother is the demon queen (dead) and her father is technically a deadbeat i guess but is not his fault & she doesnt know anyway. Also their main enemy is their twin sister whos main goal in life is to kill them 👍

i didnt get into dmc until 2021 so this is all very crazy to me too but im not changing it

hi everyone say hi to aeris again after however many years it's been since i last drew her it took longer than expected to do this so im posting in case i don't color tonight

shes supposed to be leaning on her staff but i straight up didnt feel like drawing it because i hate drawing straight lines

A few years ago @castledvania and I saw a post about a game where you make OCs based on each other's taste and decided to try it but the reactions were kind of lukewarm. The other day I saw them in my files and decided it might be fun to try again so we did. This time was much more successful :-)
