🌲🍄A few months ago I took a dna test to see if there were any “surprises” that I didn’t know about. Well, finding out that I’m over 80% Scottish was definitely a surprise and a lovely one at that! Plus it just makes so much sense, considering all the things I love and am interested in. I also have blood ties in Norway, Ireland and the east coast of New England. When I say it makes sense, it’s because I’ve always had a deep fascination with anything dark and mysterious. I hated Disney cartoons as a child but could watch the Dark Crystal on repeat until the tape broke. I think this is also why I have always loved collecting old dolls and effigies, especially old witches and trolls. Now when I say trolls, I’m not talking about the neon haired dolls with plastic gems in their tummy, no. I mean the real authentic wart covered trolls straight from the old forests of Norway.🌲This particulate troll figure is one of my favorites, I just love her personality. Her name is Ylva which means female wolf in old Norse. She reminds me of an old wolf and I truly believe that she’s a shapeshifter and changes into a wolf on some nights because she will go missing for days on end then appear out of nowhere. She helps protect my home from harmful entities which has come in helpful more than twice! So weird! Just as I am writing this right now one of my cats walked up to her and staring chewing her hair and I’ve never seen her do that before! OooooOooooOooh!👻All silliness aside, I thought it was time I started sharing more about myself and the things I love vs. using this platform for my shop alone. I’ll try and make a nice mix of both!
