If Ares had actually been the Julian Dillinger counterpart.
You know the way Tron, Ram and Clu were played by the same actors as their creator characters? If we had been given Evan Peters as both Dillinger AND Ares??? His wet cat energy would have captivated me INSTANTLY. The undertones of self-hatred as Dillinger tortured his own look-alike to create the perfect (Perfect!!) version of himself that could destroy ANYTHING in his path.
And the ROMACE that could have been!!! Eve Kim, programer and CEO extraordinaire falling for the digital counterpart of her sworn enemy???? I would have Victorian-style SWOONED!!
And may I be so frank as to say Evan Peters is a way better actor than Jared Leto. I truely believe he could have delivered those “ai who doesn’t know how to be human but is trying Very Hard to relate to his human crush” kind of lines MUCH better.
