The French invasion of Belgium took on a new urgency this week after the capture of the city of Namur on the 1st of December. While many European allies offered their support to Belgium, Duchess Elyse Zollern of Prussia took a step back. In the third defection of German nobility, the Duchess announced a press conference in Brandenburg, that she was withdrawing all Prussian troops from Belgium.
Facing the end of his time in power, the president is pushing to accelerate withdrawals from counterterrorism conflicts. He campaigned on ending the longstanding wars.
Trump’s final gift to Putin / Russia?
Under a draft order circulating at the Pentagon on Monday, the number of U.S. forces in Afghanistan would be halved from the current deployment of 4,500 troops, officials said.
In Iraq, the Pentagon would trim force levels slightly below the 3,000 troops that commanders had previously announced. And in Somalia, virtually all of the more than 700 troops conducting training and counterterrorism missions would leave.
Shortly before Mr. Trump fired Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper last week and installed Christopher C. Miller as the acting Pentagon chief, Mr. Esper had sent a classified memo to the White House expressing concerns about accelerating the troop drawdown in Afghanistan, a senior administration official said.

Perspective on Syria: Let's Fight for Our Veterans Here FIRST
Perspective on Syria: Let’s Fight for Our Veterans Here FIRST
The perspective on Syria from some veterans sheds light on the history and some of the Kurdish groups that the media is harping about. Rick took to a video to explain it all with the help of a post by John Tobin. (See below). Can’t we fight for our own veterans here at home before spending trillions overseas on “useless wars?”
Tobin wrote a poston Facebook that explains a few things. It reads, in…

Two months after saying all U.S. troops are leaving Syria, the president wrote members of Congress that he agrees with keeping a U.S. presen
I do wonder if the whole point of Trump making loud proclamations about leaving Syria were nothing more than an attempt to embed in the minds of his followers and, to a lesser extent, the American public that we have left Syria, even though we haven't.
One could say the same about Afghanistan, where the Pentagon recently proposed a plan to keep troops there for five years, which is far from actually leaving. Five years also gives plenty of time for a new president or Trump to change direction and keep troops there longer.
Long story short: be skeptical of Trump's claims that he's anti-war.
The same newscasters, politicians and writers who danced with glee when George W. Bush proclaimed "Mission Accomplished" after the illegal invasion of Iraq in 2003, are screaming about Trump withdrawing from another illegal occupation in a conflict that has been exacerbated and prolonged by American intervention. The politicians and media types screaming about "weakness" need to get on a flight to Damasacus and enlist there if they want to fight. Rather than sending more lives to die in fruitless wars for a collection of states in that region that dictate our policy.

Turkish Invasion of Syria, What’s At Stake Without the US
There is a fight going on over Trump’s decision to remove troops from Syria. According to the Pentagon, only 50-100 special ops troops are affected by the order, and they will be relocated out of harm’s way to a “more secure area.” Those who are angry with the decision are seeing the Kurds and Christians, who have been solid allies, being left to fight the Turkish invasion – which as begun- …
