In all honesty it might be a wig because I know Rob had to cut his hair quite short for another project, although that was a while ago! Not sure how fast a man’s hair can grow.

" Non-romantically " do you not ship Haladriel?

It’s a tongue-in-cheek post because of the way the production have been adamant that the marriage proposal was “non-romantic” “bigger than romance” “cosmic” etc. In my opinion, there is no platonic explanation for the way he is looking at her in that scene (and in others).

If I were able to edit the post I would probably add quotation marks around the phrase because some have been confused.

I actually do really love the “cosmic connection” phrasing they came up for it, though. There’s something so big about their relationship that you’re almost unable to fit it into any one box. As Vickers said, “I like to think of [Sauron and Galadriel’s] connection to be something greater than romance…”

Morfydd Clark has also said, “I think that romance just doesn’t kind of cut it for them. It’s cosmic and it would be a Middle-earth shattering relationship should they enter into it.”

This isn’t meant to belittle romance, but to explain how truly massive their bond and relationship is. And how big the consequences could be if they were to come together.

If you had to guess: S3 Sauron will be

a) Halbrand b) Annatar (but for men) c) new form

I don’t think he’ll try to hide who he is anymore; he’ll probably even call himself Sauron, and might even keep the blond wig that he wore as Annatar.

Halbrand was a form made for Galadriel so he’ll likely only return to that if he is trying to communicate with her, but even then I’m not sure if it will be used. Sauron is just Sauron now, out in the open.

I could be wrong though! (I hope I’m wrong — my dream look for him would be similar to this photo but with darker hair now, almost a mix between Halbrand and Annatar.)

I think Kemen might be a Nazgûl but they’d better choose someone a little less pathetic to be the Witch-king (sorry!). Even Theo, aged up, would be better. But it’s likely we haven’t met the future WK yet and will in season three!

I don’t think the show is “progressive” enough to have Eärien become one of the Nazgûl, even though I think there’s plenty of room in the lore for one of them to be a woman.

I think Theo’s father is the lost heir to the Southlands that Galadriel thought Halbrand was. Maybe his father will end up being the oathbreaker king, otherwise it might be Theo himself later on (perhaps they will recast for an older actor). McPayne said we will learn who he is at some point… What do you think?

not really a theory, more of a wishlist item but I’d love to see Gil-galad and especially the relationship between him and Elrond and/or him and Elendil get developed more in season three/four before we get to season five and the 🔥🔥😢😭

Seconding this! Especially hoping to see more of Gil-galad this season. I’m guessing season four will have a very big focus on Númenor, so maybe this season will give Gil-galad and Elrond their time to shine.
