The Heart of Hogwarts

Summary: The second time you spot Enid is during the sorting ceremony, she’s all pink cheeks and chattering blue eyes when her name is called, she quickly flits on unstable giraffe like legs as she stumbles towards the wooden chair, hands clasped to her lap and blue frigid eyes unable to peer at one solid point in the room. She’s all stoic eyes despite the way they flit, despite the way her fingers shake on her lap. You crane your head, noticing how her brothers-they must be-same sandy locks and blue frigid hues- eye her from across the great hall-assessing her with eyes that shine with no traces of kindness-they speak to each other in hushed tones, one of them whispering and chuckling. It’s obvious they have no care for their little sister-only chuckle at her absentminded stumbles. Enid pays them no mind, her frigid eyes remaining on one point on the floor. The hat is then taken and laid precariously onto Enid’s head, before being placed even more firmly by professor weems. The hat hasn’t spoke yet-pondering, quite long. Longer than any of the other year ones. Hell, the hats hadn’t even been placed upon the heads of the other pupils before the sorting hat had made its choice. But with Enid it stays, it listens-it feeds off her thoughts. Learns from her- it’s a scary thought-you find yourself thinking. What’s so interesting about Enid Sinclair?
