“ Victoire, do you want a drink? I made this tea specially for you. ” – Ethan
Victoire was here to break up with him. It was what she promised to Thomas yesterday, and ultimately, it was what she wanted. She did not love Ethan, she doubted she ever could. Her heart had someone else’s name carved in it. Licking her lips, Victoire could almost taste the feeling of Thomas’ mouth against hers and it made her want to get this done as soon as possible so she could return to his arms. Still, Ethan deserved a bit of her time, even more giving that she was about to end things between them, even though he asked - not so long ago - for her to come live with him. She wondered for the split of a second if he could feel the tension emanating from her body, the distance she was putting between them, and if it were the reason he was offering her a tea. ❝ Sure. ❞ Victoire took the warm cup with two hands before taking a seat on the large couch on the terrace. Fiddling with her bracelet, she was trying to find a way to soften the blow. Did a right way to break up with someone even existed? She did not know. ❝ We need to talk, I know it can seem like it’s coming out from nowhere but... ❞ Victoire stopped, taking a sip of her tea to gather her thoughts. Something shifted inside her. She frowned slightly, at first, warmth spreading in her stomach and then through her entire body. Euphoria took over her previous seriousness and a soft chuckle escaped her lips. She was feeling happy and a bit giddy. Victoire abruptly stood up, taking a deep breath as she looked around as though she was seeing his place for the first time. Butterflies were fighting in the pit of her stomach, her skin tingling with happiness as she turned to face Ethan. Her heart swelled with love, and she fell onto his laps, grinning. ❝ I love you. ❞ The words easily left her mouth, her voice light and dreamy as she tenderly stroked his cheek. Wasn’t he the most handsome man she’d ever met? Victoire cupped his jaw with one hand, leaning toward him to capture his lips with hers for a long and deep kiss. Smiling against his lips, she pressed her chest against his, as though she was trying to melt inside him. ❝ You’re so perfect. I’m the luckiest person in the world to be your girlfriend. ❞ Her hands were running over his face now and she bit hard on her bottom lip, unable to stop herself from touching him. ❝ I love you more than anything else. ❞ She repeated, more firmly this time, before allowing her mouth to catch his once more for a passionate kiss.
